Any recommendations or thought welcomed Ron Ron MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.
July 13, 2025Jul 13 I have an LG 42 inch 4K OLED Gaming TV would never go back to a monitor again, It`s outstanding on colour and pure blacks. It` a TV A Monitor and ideal for my streaming TV. https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/54409815548/in/dateposted-public As you can see it`s G-SYNC and 120 Hz Raymond Fry.

I have heard that up close it is not as sharp as a Monitor, but I have no idea if that is true or not. Is the type just as sharp. Is the type just as sharp. You will find them in most big stores to look at. Remember it`s 4K twice the res of your present monitor forget AA you will not need it. I went from a ASUS 28inch 4K Monitor and that does not hold up against the LG OLED. 4K LG https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/53799701883/in/dateposted-public https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/53817292970/in/dateposted-public https://www.flickr.com/photos/154944674@N05/54461797045/in/dateposted-public Raymond Fry.
July 15, 2025Jul 15 I use a 3 48" LG C4 OLEDs and find them plenty sharp. Given you'd be looking at a 42" I don't think you'd have any issues for non-gaming work....although it may depend how far away from the display you're sitting. I can't fault the display of the C4 - Its fantastic. Kael Oswald 9950X3D/ 64GB DDR5 6200 @ CL30 / Custom Water Loop / RTX 5090 / 3 x 48" LG C4 OLEDs
July 15, 2025Jul 15 I have use the 42" LG C2 OLED for two years now and its fantastic.(Im mostly on DCS/F18)..I think its better than VR..I wish I can find two other (C2, not used)..Go for it...
July 18, 2025Jul 18 Author Bit the bullet and got a LG C5 42 inch. ( I got to be stupid or something) The legs on the 42. Some have complained. The legs are L shape that go to the ends instead of a middle pedestal. I like them. The monitor sits very solid, and they go forward so they take very little space allowing you to push the monitor as far back as you desire. It also leaves room for wires to go underneath. No swivel or height adjustment. This could be problematic for some. Quality Very good-looking monitor. Very well made. Extremely slim. That was a nice surprise. (Again, space saving) Perfect for a desk, although my desk is deep. I sit around 30 inches away. Does not look out of place. Made me wish I got a 48. (Just for a second. 48 would have been too big.) Text is surprisingly very clear. (My biggest worry). 4K makes all the difference. Setup (Really really frustrating) This part is long and frustrating. This is not a plug and play Monitor. Lots of settings that need to be adjusted. Never sure what is what or how to change things. Spent hours doing this. (Still fiddling with settings) Took me forever to get it to work in 144 hz . The only way I found was to load MSFS first and then go into the monitor or display settings. Can’t remember which now. Not sure if there is another way. Frame Rate Surprisingly, very little impact so far. Quite pleased in fact. Not great in windows mode, but very good in Full Screen. It’s early in the process so I reserve the right to change my mind. Dropped from 165hz to 144hz / 32 inch to 42 inch / 1440p to 4K. Video card is a 12g Asus Rog 4071ti. Visuals Well, it 4K. OLED. Seems obvious it is going to be good. I was afraid it was going to be to glossy looking, but it’s ok. The glare is or could be a very big problem. I have very few lights where the computer sits and already, I can tell this could be an issue. Something to keep in mind if you decide to go with a TV monitor. Conclusion Bigger is always better / great quality / Text not a concern / setup is frustrating / Glare could be a major concern / Visually amazing / No swivel or height adjustment. July 18, 2025Jul 18 You may like to try LGTV Companion app. It should work on the C5 series. I am using it on my C2 42”. From the description: ”automatic management for your WebOS device (TV), to shut off and turn on in reponse to the PC shutting down, rebooting, entering low power modes…”
July 18, 2025Jul 18 Also label your input as a “PC” input for lower latency and better image quality. Again this was for my C2 but it may still be the case for the newer models.
