July 15, 2025Jul 15 It looks like my FSUIPC config file has a problem?? I had no problems for years, but for the past few days I´ve noticed some strange behavior. All my settings for flight control and the thrust lever are unchanged inside the config file. But now, if I - for example- retract the gear using the corresponding switch, the A/C goes into a left turn. Question: Can I simple install FSUIPC over it, or will that cause even bigger problems. Thks for any helping tips FSUIPC 6 is a paid version Peter
July 15, 2025Jul 15 Commercial Member Reinstallation of FSUIPC does not update the config file. If you want, move the config file and a new one will be created. Cheers Luke Kolin I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

Did you unplug a controller and move to another port recently? If you check your fsuipc.ini you might see duplicates for whatever device that switch was on. I had a similar issue pressing HDG on my Bravo throttle quadrant was disconnecting AP. Realised it was switched to my yoke profile for some reason (and my ap disconnect on there). Re-installing FSUIPC will cause no issues - but it won't solve your problem either. As @sloppysmusic says, it could be that your device ids/guids have changed, or if you have controllers active in P3D then P3D could have automatically re-assigned your controllers. If you want further assistance, could you post in the FSUIPC support forums, attach your FSUIPC ini and log files and I will take a look. John / FSUIPC
July 16, 2025Jul 16 Author Tks to all for helping me. New config file last only one flight. I have open a request at FSUIPC forum Peter

Indeed here is my current fsuipc7.ini controller section: It is working FINE for me right now. I'd love to clear out the duplicates but don't want to mess the working ones up! The interesting prefixes use ALPHA for top half and NUMERIC for bottom. Would I be right in assuming FSUIPC on FIRST install has used ALPHA and then detected a RE-INSTALL (I rebuilt my system with new MB/cpu) and used NUMERIC for the 2nd one? Then detected a THIRD install so gone back to ALPHA? So I could delete all the top ALPHAS and then NUMERICS safely? Also then relabel E-G as A-C? (After backing up ini of course!) I don't use VJOY anymore so that definitely points to my first install of MSFS. No. FSUIPC uses both the numeric and letter entries - both are needed, and if you relabel you will lose any assignments to those letters. You do have some assignments on your Bravo using letter D, which need to be changed to letter F. And you can delete the duplicate letter entries once this is done, but not relabel/change the letters if you have assignments on them, as you will then lose the assignments. For further assistance, if needed, please post on the FSUIPC support forum, and attach both your ini and log files. John
