Looks right, but isn't working. Hmm. I downloaded it myself and you have done it correctly (you don't have a folder within folder problem). Sadly can't test it in 2020 as that's not installed.

Try some other addons? Might just be this one that's broken for some reason.

I tried 3 different one for Blackpool and none worked, its so frustrating !

Thanks Alan

  • I would check your settings in the "Data" section to verify if your simulator is really online.

  • Are you sure photogrammetry is on? Try looking up videos on YouTube and see if your sim looks the same when you go to that same location.

You also need to make sure that it is not a "folder within a folder".

Does this look better to you? This is in MSFS 2024 default. It’s not just the pier, but generally does this look good ?

Update, may be getting closer to fixing this !

Note I on on PC not xbox and msfs2020

Seems I may have a conflict usercfg.opt says folder is D:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator

if should have been community after that but seems it did not do it.

But ! The one working path for 1 item anyway is

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

The sim started loading on C and I had to stop it and then re-download to D due to space

Guessing this may be my problem ?

I would want to change to D and move everything but can find where I change the path ? I know I have seen it it the past the option to move it can anyone help ?

Can I safely delete all the C data ?

That would certainly explain a lot... BTW, the line in the usercfg.opt line does not point to the Community folder, but to the folder that contains the Community folder..!

"usercfg.opt says folder is D:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator"

Is this usercfg.opt file in this location?

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\

and does it say:

InstalledPackagesPath "D:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator"  ?

Please confirm.

Does this folder, on your D drive, have the Official and Community folders in it?

The Official folder should have all the sim content, 100+ GB of folders..

Be careful about deleting things off your C drive until you have everything working.. there could be links in there that you do not want to delete.

usercfg.opt is on C drive

D:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator is where I set the game to go on my second attempt at loading.

the 2 community folders on both C and D driver only contain the 2 files I have put in. D drive community was not found by the sim and I then followed a file path posted on here to find the C community folder and when I put Blackpool airport in that it worked but not the second blackpool mod

all other files are in D microsoft flight simulator in Contents, official and update folders.

Thanks Alan.

OK... you need to back up and read my previous post in detail..  There is no such thing as two community folders in the sim..  There is ONE active folder that contains both Official and Community folders.. that is all that counts.

If the usercfg.opt file points to your D drive, the packages folder on C should contain empty folders that are not used.

Yes, I suggested watching a couple tutorials.. OP is a bit lost in all the folder stuff so can't really help like this.

Hi,

As I said, it started install on C, I stopped it then redownloaded to D as there is not enough room on C drive. There is a community folder on both C and D and I choose where to put the files. I put them in community on D and nothing worked. someone posted a link to the file path on C which I followed and place the same files on the C drive community folder. one of the addons then worked, the other does not so even though the files says to look in D community it is not its looking at C.

Have watch lots of tutorials and followed them but things are just not working how they should.

Thanks Alan

All sorted, thanks for the help everyone. the only problem I have now is the double tower which is seems everyone gets and will get sorted at some point.

How I fixed it

I had 2 community folders one on C and one on D due to failing to change the destination drive when I first downloaded. addon placed in D dis not work some placed in C did work.

I deleted the C community folder and put a virtual link in its place to the D community folder and all is working.

Thanks Alan
