I've got 2024 running well and Steam VR working well. Recently, I bought SimXR. Apparently it requires Virtual Desktop to work. I've purchased VD through Meta and also installed the desktop version. Now what sequence do I use to get everything started appropriately? Do I still use Steam? Do I have to manually start Virtual Desktop on the PC first? At what point during this do I start 2024?  How do all the components work together? Much I am clueless on.  Thanks.

With Virtual Desktop, all you needed to do is to load VD first and then your SteamVR app, make sure to set SteamVR for your VD OpenXR runtime.  And that is all.

You then load the MSFS2024 within Steam VR.

I believe i had to do that for F1 2025 and as well as XP12.

But xbox MSFS is much easier, i just load VD and then MSFS.

Thanks, I'll try that.

But one of the main advantages of Virtual Desktop is that you don't need SteamVR at all!

Just use the native OpenXR built into VD, much better performance.

XBox in VR? Didn't think that was possible?

Hi there, im curious about VD now.. could i use this in conjunction with Pimax Play or simply on its own? What are the benefits of using VD?

Cheers
