Maddog X in MSFS2024. Load Manager not doing anything

Featured Replies

Hi

I love this aircraft but, gosh, it's SO frustrating.  I remember it being challenging to get it to load properly in MSFS2020, but MSFS2024 is absolutely defeating me - not to actually get a 'default' configuration booted up and flying, but to get it to recognise the Maddog Load Manager and do anything with the settings within it.

- In MSFS2024, I only have the base MD-82 in default Leonardo colours.  I am aware that the Maddog Load Manager is specific to actual aircraft loaded - but I only have the one.

-The aircraft will boot up fine in MSFS2024, and I can fly it happily in its one configuration, and without the EFB working.

- but the Maddog Load Manager does not change anything at all even though it correctly changes from 'Waiting for Sim' to 'Connected' when the sim boots up.

-  As such, I cannot configure the aircraft or flight properly.  And, as the default load state is that the EFB is not ticked, I cannot boot up the EFB to change anything that way either.

The Load Manager is the latest version (1.2b219); I have disabled and re-enabled the Maddog X in MSFS2024 Library.  The Load Manager correctly shows that there are no liveries and that the only option is MD-82 so I haven't chosen the wrong version.

Any ideas??

I've posted a similar message on the Maddog Forum too but no answer as yet.

Why not use the EFB? I only use the load manager to re-enable GSX when I tried out FS24 but besides that I've never touched it again.

Because the EFB is switched off by default and can - as far as I can work out - only be switched on through the Load Manager.  To be honest, that is the only thing I am trying to do.

Well, drastic action but getting somewhere...except I STILL cannot turn on the EFB/in cockpit tablet.  Maybe I'm being a bit dim...is there an internal switch in the cockpit other than the tablet switch & screen themselves?

Basically, I've:

- removed ALL files related to the Maddog from my Community Folder

- removed ALL livery files from the relevant C:/Documents/Maddog X File folder

- re-loaded the Maddog X through my SimMarket login back into the sim

- re-loaded the Maddog Load Manager

- re-loaded a couple of liveries (the liveries also weren't working before) through the Load Manager

And - at last - the sim is now following the Load Manager configuration choices (such as Pilot, Copilot, Livery choice, etc..) once I had Set and saved the new settings.

All, that is, except for the EFB!  Even though I have ticked that option in the Maddog Load Manager, the EFB in the cockpit is not on, and will not turn on.  Hovered over, the cursor turns into a hand shape when over the EFB or its on-off switch - but clicking that does nothing...

Hence my question.  I'm clearly missing something obvious...

Have you tried pressing and holding the home button on the EFB? That’s what turns it on for me in the sim.

I have - but I'll try again just in case.  I think it's now the only thing not working.  By the way, I got the sound pack recently released...it's fantastic.

Yup - you are right.  I had been holding it down long enough when everything else also wasn't working - but after rebooting so many times, the previous 'almost there' try, I must have rushed it.  Yes - it works now.

It's taken most of the day but happy chappy again.  Many thanks for helping me over the final hurdle!

Could you check that the plane registration in MSFS2024 is blank ? Somehow MSFS2024 is using the same plane registration between variants not even related to the airplane itself. For instance today my A319 had the same reg as my Comanche A250 from prior flight

I recall in MSFS2020 to leave it blank as the loadmanager "talks" to this ID

I think the Maddog notes say that the reg should be specified in the Load Manager and that must match the reg that you then load in MSFS.  Certainly, that is what I've been doing.

Yeah , that sounds the way of programming - but why is MSFS2024 moving my reg from for instance a GA to an airliner ?

in MSFS2020 Leonardo told us just to leave it blank and the load-manager would work.

Lately i might be thinking that this step might have being overseeing by "who knows to c.. with what..."

i also has this issue. all datas from loadmananger was ignored in FS2024.
i save with the simbrief downloader two plans: the normal and the Acars-plan.
I load the simbrief weights in the EFB weight and balance folder. and the Flightplan in the FMC via Company Route.
so i get all datas into the plane.
And YES, i can also commit: the new Soundpack ist great!
