August 26, 2025Aug 26 Hello, I am a long time simmer (since FS 2000) and I have not bought FS2024 because I have a poor internet connection (Down 8.8 Mbps, up 0.54 Mbps). It is clear the the stream mode is not for me. Do you think that with the download mode, I will be able to use FS2024? I don't mind if it takes ages to download an area and I am not a FPS chaser, 50 is enough for me. Does the download mode require a minimum internet connection once the flight is launched? Can FS 2024 work with zero internet connection (once the data has been downloaded)? I have not yet found answers to those questions. Thank you. August 26, 2025Aug 26 If you are not already on gamepass you can often sign up for a 2wk or 1 month trial for 1$. This would allow you to test 2024 and see how well it works with your internet connection.
August 26, 2025Aug 26 I wouldn't go for it - Streaming is the way to go IMHO... - Easier centralized updates; - Better performance; - What can we do without an Internet link anyway these days? Is it going to change? - Who, better than MS / ASOBO to know what's the best for MSFS ? No. And you seem to misunderstand what the "download mode" does. It allows you to download aircraft and bespoke sceneries. It will however not allow you to download any parts of the world. That's why you need a continuous internet connection. And 8 MBPS is way too low. The minimum spec is 10MB/ps. You only have 8. The recommended is 50.
