I haven't got the Caravan so I can't test but on your video there are some clicking sounds that are noticeable about 4-5 seconds before the sighs. After the sigh those clicks stop and then start up again a few seconds before the next sigh.

Overly sensitive and not slowing down quickly enough seem to be problems with a lot of small aircraft in msfs.

He finds both of these later in the video. It is also very clearly labelled as a first look video so perhaps it shouldn't be that surprising that he doesn't know where they are at first. The aircraft does look nice and hopefully there will be more reviews. I do perfer developers to have some sort of social media presence for communication with users. I see this one just has email on their website. It will be interesting to see what support and development it gets in the future. I would have thought it was an ideal candidate to have one of the new Avidyne units as an option to replace the Garmin 430.

I think I did try playing with the vsync setting but couldn't stop the tearing. The problem is that I have very limited time for simming and never want to spend it tweaking. So I end with various issues that don't get fixed and spend the time I do have flying whatever setup I have.

I wish MS/Asobo would keep the inbuilt systems up to date whether it is the nvidia file everyone has keep replacing or FSR. I may try this, as I have a 9070 but I try and keep my system and install as clean as possible to avoid issues. I did briefly try the inbuilt FG but ended up with screen tearing and never looked to far into how to fix it.

I have downloaded the aircraft I use as I didn't see the point in streaming them every time (I know that the cache means it won't be everytime) but left the terrain streaming. If you have downloaded files then when the developers fix bugs or change the files in any way you need to download the new versions. That is all you are seeing with this message. If you streamed everything then it just updates on the MS/Asobo servers and your sim would download the new versions when you use them without you being aware of it.

What do you think updates to core sim packages have to do with optional third party addons?

It clearly says Update available to the Upgrade packages you own. Click on the down arrow on the right of each section and see what packages are listed. I am guessing that you have downloaded packages rather than streaming them?

Who are you asking for a fix? Nobody on avsim can rewrite msfs for you. It doesn't matter how many posts you make. The only constructive action anyone can take is to post bugs on the official forums or requests on the wish list there. Then people need to decide whether msfs in its current state is acceptable for them and if it has issues that they can't tolerate they need to go and do something else. Use a different sim or take up gardening or whatever. Endlessly complaining about the same issues to people who have no power to change anything is just wasting everyone's time.

It is at the moment but we don't know what plans they have for the career mode in the future.

I enjoyed flying the single engined variant of the 2020 version. I am interested to check out this new version later but have the other AAu4 aircraft been released as well? I also wonder why they gave away the F7? Perhaps they want to give new players a taste of a historical aircraft.

I do have 2 companies, one light cargo with a 172 and one sightseeing with an Optica, but I haven't bothered with that side of the career mode much. I use the carrer mode just as a flight generator and hence I mostly stick with the employee missions. The company side ties you to one location whereas using the employee side I can pick what type of mission I want and where I want to fly in the regions I have unlocked. I have done some of the rescue missions as an employee and haven't run into the problems you are listing. I suspect that the reports you read are the usual fud spread about 2024.

There were lots of fixes to other aircraft included in SU5 and the new Avidyne avionics were also released so I am just expecting the new 2024 versions of the five FF/LL aircraft. Maybe if there were other fixes that didn't make SU5 they will be included but I doubt there will be much outside the five main releases. I am also assuming that the 5 upgraded aircraft will be launched on the marketplace as well.

They did say it was going to be Tuesday this week but until it releases there could always be another delay. It was originally supposed to release with SU5 so there must have been some issue that delayed it. The updates will be free for people who own it already.

I timed mine when before downloading any of in game assets. I have since downloaded all the aircraft that I use and have addons loaded via addons linker but I don't know off hand how much. I think it is taking a bit longer but I don't know for sure as I can't remember where I wrote down the original 'clean' time.

So real you called it a photo and not a screenshot 🙂 I think I would need to sanitise my mouse after clicking on those switches.

The G1000, steam guage and now the IFD variants are all variants listed under the 172 rather than the IFD being a variant of the G1000. When I first updated the IFD didn't show. When starting the sim it did the overall SU5 update. I download most of the aircraft models to disk so I then went to My Library in the MP and downloaded some of the updated aircraft including the 172 packages. Checking the 172 for the new variant was one of the first things I did and I couldn't see the new variant. I went back into My Library a couple of times downloading more updates and I think I saw another 172 update listed so check again if you download. I saw a pic on the official forums of the 172 IFD so later on I tried again and variant was available. The other suggestion is to reload the sim and see if that works. Mine definitely went from not showing to showing and I am not sure what caused that.

I think the Avidyne variant is part of the steam gauge 172 that is in the Deluxe package. If you only have the base sim with the G1000 version then you won't have it. AFAIK the Avidyne avionics package is part of the base sim but the steam gauge 172 is the only aircraft to use it so far.

It is now available in sim. I don't know much about avionics but it looks like the Avidyne units will be a good alternative to the basic Garmin ones. Hopefully aircraft developers will adopt them. From what I understand they are pretty much a drop in replacement for the GNS units and hence it shouldn't be too much work to create new variants. Although as I am not a developer I could be wrong. The ff/ll updates and the Avidyne avionics were what I was most interested in this update so at least one of the two arrived today.

It was AAU4 that I was looking forward to for the LL/FF updates.

As an alternative view I would strongly recommend that people don't turn off security features of Windows. Also considering what caused the OPs problem in the first place don't do dodgy 'clean ups' either.
