I fly the SR22 quite a bit. Both the 2024 version and the 2020 version - both in MSFS2024. I keep a copy of the 2020 version because only that version is compatible with Boris's SR22 sound pack, which is one of his best in my opinion.

Both SR22s are pretty good. You have wide utilisation of the Working Title G1000 NXi, so advanced nav / vnav / approaches work perfectly. Visuals are good. The sound in the 2024 version is acceptable but nowhere near the fidelity and realism of the 2020 version with Boris sounds. The flight handling characteristics is good with both. (2024 has CFD, 2020 does not, but I personally find the whole CFD thing hyped and overrated and some of my favourite hand flyers don't have CFD, whereas some of my worst hand flyers do have CFD!).

Advantages with the 2024 version include the updated model, with opening doors and walkaround interactables.

To be honest, I thought all versions on 2024 came with the SR22, but if I didn't have it, I would definitely pick it up. For a default aircraft, it's perfectly acceptable and provides most aspects of the Cirrus experience vibe 👍

Word of warning - in the real Cirrus, the parachute lever is underneath a removable cover. So you remove the cover, then pull the lever. In the MSFS2024 version, clicking on the cover activates the parachute immediately!! (Ask me how I know).

Thanks. It's only like 20$ CND or something like that. I barely fly any planes with the g1000 so that is good and it's a plane I fine very interesting.

If the flight handling is good I will be happy.

Agreed 👍

There are a few CFD’s that I don’t find convincing, and a few that are (IMHO) superb.

So just hitting that CFD = ON switch is no panacea.

IIRC, Black Square still uses a mix of CFD and Tables(?) for their physics. I’m sure the latter is to help Nick get to those 3% of IRL performance numbers, etc.

BUT, as with all else, when done well, CFD does add to the experience.

It came included for me and I think it’s pretty good. But I don’t fly it a lot vs my Hi Fi payware (I tend to gravitate to faster aircraft and retractable gear).

It’s a very “simple” cockpit with fairly good ergos . Great for focusing in on flying rather than operating the aircraft

$20 is a good price, but these do all go on sale, so maybe wait…?

FWIW, When I do want to fly one, the TorqueSim in XP is extremely well done. Its $70 MSRP is too high, IMHO. It rates with A2A and Black Square, so I think it's worth the $50 sale price I paid.

IIRC it is a WT aircraft with a lot of input from Cirrus.

Taxiing is horrible. The free castoring nosewheel is modelled quite badly.

The free castoring nosewheel is not modeled at all, so it just taxis like any other aircraft with nosewheel steering. A compromise they made to accommodate those without differential braking controls.

It is modelled very well in the Cows DA40 and very easy to manage. It's a shame the Cirrus does not have it.

MSFS 2024, I made a mod that adds the free castering nose wheel (and it’s not to bad, not as good as the COWS but not bad at all). This mod also fixes the approach pitch attitude — if I'm not wrong, the real SR22 flies final with a noticeably nose-down attitude, around −1 to −3° with full flaps at 80–82 KIAS, while the stock aircraft sits slightly nose-up. The mod brings the sight picture back to what Cirrus pilots actually see, I hav’nt share it yet but I might

not true, it has that unruly shimmy as well. Just as in real life brrr.
