PMDG777 Update. Still unusable in VR here in MSFS2024

Featured Replies

Hi

I raised my hopes with today's update on the PMDG777 that it might have sorted the inoperable VR mouse and/or the VR cockpit seat position (seats you facing around 30 degrees to the right).

But no.  I could live with the seat position, but the VR mouse is still completely inoperable since SU3.  So I'm afraid that it is still unflyable for me (I only fly VR).

Is everyone having the same problems or - more to the point - anyone NOT having these issues?

I've just found some stuff related to a similar topic on the PMDG forum and - although I can't see the details yet because of a slightly confusing authorisation issue (it seems to have lost my login and so I am awaiting 'administrator approval' for a new login) - there appears to be a workaround that might be worth trying.

But, because there was something I wanted to try in the 777 - and because of the pretty persistent micro-judder issues with most aircraft for me since SU3 in MSFS2024 (and yes - I've tried most things to sort that), I went back to MSFS2020 and booted it up there.

And WOW, what a difference!  The 777, inside and out, looks crackingly good, the VR mouse works, the VR seat position is spot on, the panels are super sharp, externals likewise near and far.  I did a short flight and, to be honest, the only thing that was obviously less good compared with the same route in 2024 was the clouds!

There's no way that I am going to abandon MSFS2024 - I've grown to really, really like it - but, having wasted best part of two weeks just trying to: find my missing aircraft; get the 777 ( and the...and the... and the...) running at all; get back to the smooth micro-stutter-free VR visuals that I was enjoying pre SU3; etc; etc;etc, I'm going to give 2024 a rest for a while and go back to 2020 until the general consensus is that 2024 and related issues are generally resolved.  I can live without the really impressive clouds for a while...

For me, since SU3 the cockpit does not render correctly in VR. buttons on the overhead panel have holes for example. and the mouse cannot be used for essential stuff.

The latest update you are refering to does not help.

Exactly the same problem here…. 🙄Buttons have holes in the overhead panel and it just doesn’t look right…. I won’t be flying it until it’s sorted as I only fly in VR

Same here as of today after I updated the aircraft through the PMDG Control Center with MSFS 2024.

Disappointing, VR show stopper. Awaiting a fix.

Are we waiting for adobo or pmdg?

probably related to this issue Asobo dumped on VR users right before SU3 was released
