September 7, 2025Sep 7 Hello Everybody My sim is on my C drive. I would like to install another SSD drive to transfer all my add ons to. I am not a techie and I am looking for help. I do not know if it is feasible and how to do it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Claude
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Moderator How much of your C drive is used? The most secure way is to uninstall 3rd party airports and reinstall them on a new drive. But if you have a lot that can be a tiresome process. Ray (Cheshire, England). September 8, 2025Sep 8 I did this about a month ago moving from and HDD to an SSD the only 100 percent safe way is to uninstall all your 3rd party add ons first then P3D and reinstall P3D and slowly one by one your third party add ons. My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer

September 8, 2025Sep 8 I just moved to another drive and then started a tool like Lorby-Addon Manager. The tool detects missing sceneries and shows them in red. Then you can edit all entries. A bit faster it goes, if you go into scenery.cfg with a text editor like notepad++ and replace all "C:" with "D:", if your new drive becomes "D:". Also add-on.xml and addon.cfg can be reworked in this editor. Addon Manager is certainly a help to find the last missing sceneries. Of course this breaks update programs like the one from Aerosoft, because it no longer finds the sceneries. But nowadays we wont get upates anyway. Of course this can also be fixed in the respective xml files for the updater. Only very few sceneries don't show up correctly doing it this way. If you encounter such an airport, just reinstall it to the new drive and it will be fine. Best is, if you do this in future, in case you need a larger drive, give it the same drive letter and you can just put it there again. Now the problem is, you have all on "C:", which is not a drive letter you can put on the other drive without getting problems with the OS. A good rule is to have the OS on the "C:" drive and programs on another drive.
