VFR isn't always pretty

Featured Replies

I'm flying the Black Square Pro A36 TC from AeroDesign's KMHT (northwest of Boston) to Dream Flight's Providence, RI (KPVD).  There are clouds but it looks to be good enough for VFR so I'll cruise at 8500 as we are heading slightly west of south.  It's a short trip (approx 45 min) and we'll do around 175 ktas.  We'll also get flight following and generally plan to remain outside the Boston Class Bravo airspace.

The only sunny spot today I think hehe

Manchester, NH - home to over 100k humans - a really nice destination from anywhere, the airport has multiple instrument approaches and two runways the longest being over 9000 ft

Look at me... VLOC lol!  I just picked an initial heading and then later in the climb I tuned PVD VOR for reference with the wind (a stiff right headwind/crosswind)

I'm not from around these parts but  this appears to be Lowell, MA (Boston in the distance)

I guess there are sunny areas out today... really beautiful clouds!

We got a popup IFR due to what's ahead and went into GPS mode, approach gave us direct WOONS for the RNAV 16

It's hard to show off my fancy paint in the shade but it's still sharp 🙂

Obligatory panel pic in the soup!  (Notice any differences to the release version? )

We start down for the approach - the clouds were really interesting

Cloud bases around 4300, we gave the pirep to the controller and turn inbound towards HOKMI

I wouldn't want to land short in the EMAS - that wouldn't be pretty

A bit gusty on short final whoops

Using our GTNxi Garmin SafeTaxi for SA as we taxi into Atlantic.  We stay on tower frequency to parking (fairly common for short distances)  I spy a nice Falcon 50 (or 900 can anyone tell the difference?)

Welcome to Providence!

Tower approves a really quick drone flight for a nice aerial 🙂

That's the main airplane I am flying right now (except when beta testing 🙂 )

A cloudy day never looked better! Sensational paint job too.

Lovely series, Ryan...liked your starting point at the SIGNATURE AVIATION hangar to the finish at the ATLANTIC building...🙂...Who needs the din and bustle of O'Hare's Boarding Gates...🙂...

Despite the soupy weather throughout, the ground scenery shines through in your pictures...especially in this beautiful Bonanza Airplane...one of my favorite a/c since the beginning of the hobby...Of course, Black Square is the cream of the crop now...

I have visited NH in Fall Season a couple of times, and have taken that famous Mount Washington Cog Railway once...🙂...I must have passed by KMHT, but don't recall it...

Thanks for sharing...!
