Anyone else encountering this SteamVR error (422)

Featured Replies

I use a HP Reverb G2 headset with Oasis driver with Win 11 25H2. After I updated my NVIDIA drivers to the latest version I always get this error message when starting Steam Vr

SteamVR-error
Oh No! Steam VR has encountered an unexpected problem.
Restart SteamVR              (422)

I have tried everything conceivable. Restrt computer switching back to previous nvidia driver. Disconnecting headset. Uninstall and reinstall Steam Vr etc. Nothing helps. Does anyone else encounter this problem

I had a very similar problem just the other day. I was going crazy with that 422 error. Tried everything i could find suggested on the web. For me the solution was to have Oasis unlock all the components again. Once i did the unlock function again the 422 error went away.

I had this problem too and found that the above fixed it, via reinstalling the Oasis driver.  Even had the same updated driver install trigger.  I posted this problem and solution the Stream Oasis driver forum.  I've yet to install a new driver since then.

It's weird, the first time I brought everything up with the oasis driver, I had no mouse at all in MSFS 2024. I feared you had to use the Reverb G2 controllers for everything. But I shut everything down, rebooted my computer, and brought everything back up and the mouse was present and working, at least as good as it had been working with my Quest 3. Still acts weird sometimes, won't let me access certain areas of the cockpit, but only occasionally. At lease there is mouse support in Oasis.

For me I had access to another G2 VR headset that had problem with the picture. When I connected that the 422 error was gone and no longer any problem with the picture. So to me it seemed that it was my headset that was faulty

Was the same cable used in both tests or was it a different cable as well?
