Aleutian Islands

Featured Replies

If you ever need a good adventure fly in the Aleutian Islands with live weather. It's one of the places in the world where the weather can change super quickly. My favorite flight is from Unalaska to Umnak Island.

Nice shot, Todd.

Agree these parts of Alaska, such as the Aleutians, are exciting to explore with live weather…especially with their (unpredictable) weather patterns…

The trusty Beaver (w/o the canoe) looks neat here.

Yes, love these islands!

Thanks P_787. I haven't seen a downside to using the 2020 Beaver in FS 2024 except I can only use the stock liveries which there are about 6 or so. I tried adding a livery from Flightsim.to and it froze the game so I had to delete it unfortunately.

Looks great.   I've honestly not flown up there in Alaska since (early) FSX days, circa 2007 ish.

Yes, Todd, that Repaint issue between FS2020 and FS2024 became quickly apparent to me when I moved to FS2024.

For all the FS2020 a/c that continued to work for me in FS2024, the (corresponding) add-on livery packs I’d purchased in the Marketplace (I’m on Xbox) were mostly marked permanently incompatible, and nobody cared to update them for FS2024.

The Beaver does work nicely for me in FS2024, and I need to fly it more.

Enjoy flying it, at least, with the stock liveries…

Cheers…!

Microsoft has really improved the looks of all of the Alaskan mountains recently. It's worth checking out.

Here's another picture showing the lonely nature of the place.
