January 14Jan 14 Hello, from a blind flight simmer pilot. I interact with my computer via one of three programs known as a screen reader via artificial voice output. Those three programs are as follows: Narrator, that comes with windows based computers. A free program called Non-Visual Desktop Access, or NVDA for short. You can examine this program by going out to: www.nvaccess.org The last program is not free, but the majority of use use it to interact with our computer. It is called JAWS for windows. The current version as of October of 2025 is version 2026. The web address to down load and examine the demo is at: www.freedomscientific.com I would highly recommend setting a timer for roughly 30 to 35 minutes. Because while in demo mode, you’ll constantly have to reboot your computer for additional 40 minute demo windows to examine jaws with. With that said, I can fire up FS 2020. But it comes up in a mode where it asks me to set the size of my text. To turn on the built in voice assistant program or not and so on. I can not find the world map screen and so on so that I may select a aircraft to fly and or to file/build a flight plan and so on. Can anyone please help me out? I used to fly around 2011. Thanks to the older simulator called FSX. So, I’d like to enjoy flying as much as I once did. I offer two youtube pages for those who would like to see how a blind person can enjoy Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and how we’re trying to assist in making 2024 accessible as well. Those two youtube pages are Lounging with john And the second one is at: A direct link to the youtube page is at: http://youtube.com/@orin8722 So, can anyone please be able to help me out?! I can be reached at: [email protected] If anyone writes to me privately to try to get me off of the ground, I’ll then share my phone number with them. Here’s hoping we can link up via team viewer or what not to see why I can’t access the world map and so on. Very Thankfully Yours, Ron Kolesar AKA The Blind Pilot

January 14Jan 14 If I recall correctly, the Accessibility page comes up on the first load after an installation. As stated, it asks about Narrator settings etc and I believe there was then a 'ok' or 'next' button at the bottom right of the screen. On pressing this, you get the main front end screen; which has:- - World map - Marketplace - Challenges - Career Perhaps the only area I can help you with is to state that the world map is not accessible from that initial 'accessibility' page that comes up on first load. The accessibility page needs to be accepted / closed, to get to the main front end menu. The world map is then selected via a large click area around the middle left of the front end menu.
