  1. Hello, from blind Flight Simmer Pilot Ron Kolesar. In short, I’m having a steam issue and I’ve tried to contact steam about the issue with no success. So, I thought I’d try here instead. In short the issue is as follows for an accessibility issue. When I launch FS 2024 it wants me to connect 2024 with my x box account. It shows this but I cannot click on the connect button to enter in my e-mail and password. Now, I’ve tried all three screen readers. Narrator that comes with window computers, Non-visual Desktop access AKA NVDA for short and JAWS for windows. All three with no success to access the fields to link up fs 2024 with my x box account. I’ve even had a person via the be my eyes app via my phone assist me with no luck as well. So, I subscribed to game pass. But subscribing to game pass is only like renting my copy of fs 2024, I don’t want to constantly rent my sim being on a fix once a month Social Security Monthly paycheck. I want to purchase my copy of fs 2024 and be able to enjoy it. Can you help me out? Here is a copy of the report that was given to me after the trouble shooting that a x box operator and I did while linked up together to show what we did to come up with the reasoning that it is in doubt that it is a steam issue. Hi, Thanks for contacting Microsoft Support. During our interaction, we reviewed the sign-in issue you were experiencing and identified that it was related to accessing the game through Steam. Since the issue appears to be associated with the account linking process between Steam and Xbox services, you were advised to contact Steam Support directly for further review and assistance. At this time, no issues were identified when accessing the game through the Xbox App. Steam Support will be best positioned to investigate and resolve the linking behavior on their platform. If you need additional assistance on the Xbox side, please feel free to contact us again. Thanks again, Rita Microsoft Support Your support request number is 7099022505 support request number if you need it. Privacy Statement. Microsoft Corporation One Microsoft Way Redmond, WA 98052 USA Can you help me to be able to get past this issue so that I may be able to enjoy 2024 as much as I once did with FSX? 2. Hello, from a blind flight simmer pilot. I interact with my computer via one of three programs known as a screen reader via artificial voice output. Those three programs are as follows: Narrator, that comes with windows based computers. A free program called Non-Visual Desktop Access, or NVDA for short. You can examine this program by going out to: www.nvaccess.org The last program is not free, but the majority of use use it to interact with our computer. It is called JAWS for windows. The current version as of October of 2025 is version 2026. The web address to down load and examine the demo is at: www.freedomscientific.com I would highly recommend setting a timer for roughly 30 to 35 minutes. Because while in demo mode, you’ll constantly have to reboot your computer for additional 40 minute demo windows to examine jaws with. With that said, I can fire up FS 2020. But it comes up in a mode where it asks me to set the size of my text. To turn on the built in voice assistant program or not and so on. I can not find the world map screen and so on so that I may select a aircraft to fly and or to file/build a flight plan and so on. Can anyone please help me out? I used to fly around 2011. Thanks to the older simulator called FSX. So, I’d like to enjoy flying as much as I once did. I offer two youtube pages for those who would like to see how a blind person can enjoy Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and how we’re trying to assist in making 2024 accessible as well. Those two youtube pages are Lounging with john And the second one is at: A direct link to the youtube page is at: http://youtube.com/@orin8722 So, can anyone please be able to help me out?! I can be reached at: [email protected] If anyone writes to me privately to try to get me off of the ground, I’ll then share my phone number with them. Here’s hoping we can link up via team viewer or what not to see why I can’t access the world map and so on. Very Thankfully Yours, Ron Kolesar AKA The Blind Pilot
  3. The good news is that via the Microsoft store, I picked up msfs 2020 on my credit card last Sunday the 7th. The bad news is this. I need to try and find the library folder so that I can then down load and install the sim onto my pc. But, I can't find that folder anywhere. Would you know where that folder is at? The good news is that while in my Microsoft account on the store, I see the MSFS 2020 link in my recent orders list. But, when I click on it, nothing happens. So, I don't think that's what I want. So, can you help me to find the library folder so that I then can down load and install 2020 Premium Deluxe? The reason why I didn't go for 2024 latest and gratest, is that 20204 still isn't fully accessible for BVI Pilots. So, I hope I didn't waste funds that I placed on my credit card. For those who can help me and might want to link up via team viewer or what not, I can be reached at: [email protected] Many thanks. Ron Kolesar
  4. Well, this blind pilot loved flying the Dassault Falcon 7X in the good old days of FSX. BUt I'd love to get my hands on the successor which is the DF8X or even better, I've been hearing a huge roomer all summer long. I heard through the grapevign that there's going to be a DF50 for 2024. Is this true? If so, will it be a three engine jet like the DF7X and or 8x? Also, will the range and sealing be like the 7 and or 8 x as well. This is my answer to your question. I hope this helps out. Ron AKA The Blind Pilot
  5. hoping that somone from here will be able to help me out. In short, like the subject states, Steam isn't allowing me to move to my new eightt gig Hard Drive for my new flight bag. Can anyone help me. I can be reached at: [email protected] Those who write me privately and can help me out, I then could link up via team viewer and or give you my phone number only then. Many thanks. Ron Kolesar AKA The Blind Pilot
  6. to all. I'm in the process of picking up a Seagate 4 tb external hard drive. Ms was telling me last night that I don't have enough room on my c drive to run 202 and or 2024. So, can I simply just unistall steam from my computer without closing out my steam account from online? Also, if this is the case, how can I transfer my steam account with fs 2020 and or 2024 from my c drive to the new drive without closing out my steam account? Many thanks. Ron AKA The Blind Pilot
  7. to all, from Ron Kolesar. AKA The Blind Pilot. Luckily thanks to the X Box operator from Microsoft, we linked up and I was able to get past my road block. But, when I run the upgrade to have the most up to date version of 2020, it states that I don't have enough space on my c drive. Now, I know that I have plenty of space left on the hard drive. So, why can't I still not be able to access 2020? Also, in my letter back to X Box support, I went to my c drive's properties. But every time I would go back and forth between the info that I was copying into my letter and the letter itself, the numbers in the properties constantly changed on me. But, I know I have plenty of space to run and upgrade 2020. If anyone can help me out, I'd deeply appreciate it. Very Thankfully Yours, Ron Kolesar
  8. Hello, to you Mark, from Ron Kolesar. AKA The Blind Pilot. I was told that the successor to the Honeycomb Alpha is the Honeycomb XPC USB flight yoike. Is this still accurate? Also, if the XPC another higher step from the alpha lite, or is the alpha lite the step about the xpc? I'm blind, could you also describe what the flight yoke looks like? I'm curious to know how tall the yoke is. I had another flight yoke that was way to long for me. So, just was curious. Many thanks. Ron
  9. Many thanks. But then how do I get past the X box sign in so that I may enjoy 2020/and or 2024? I have it on a windows eleven desktop computer. I don't have it installed yet, but I place 2024 extream deluxe on my credit card. Here's hoping that I don't have the same issues with 2024 that I'm having with 2020 when it loads and second here's hoping that it will be more accessible for we who use a screen reader program to interact with our computer. Sadly, I miss the good old days of FSX. Many thanks though for answering my one question. Ron AKA The Blind Pilot
  10. I'd love to see the DF7X, and or its successor the DF8X, Or from what we saw eariler this past summer, MSFS is going to have the DF50. Wonder how it will compare against the 7 and or 8x? Hope this answers your question. Ron
  11. Hello to my fellow subscribers. I confirmed the following with my sighted friend. I just installed 2020 version number 1.39.9.0 I hear the music playing. This tells me that I have 2020 loaded and at the main welcome screen. I just had a sighted friend confirm this for me. It wants me to sign into a x box account, and I don't have x box. How can I get past this via keyboard commands? I have 2020 installed on a windows eleven desktop computer. I'd love to stress test out the version four of the beta for 2024, but don't know how to install it onto my computer via my steam account. Can anyone here give me step by step via keyboards to down load and install the latest beta fro 2024? Now, I don't have a purchased copy of 2024 just yet. Do I need to purchase it before I can be a beta tester for it? Many thanks. Ron Kolesar.
  12. As a blind flight sim pilot from the good old days of FSX. I would love to be able to down load a list of keyboard commands as well. While I wait for that. Can anyone help me out with the following? I fire up 2020, once i hear the music i press the ESC key. But, what is the path and or keyboard commands to get to and turn on the narration assistant inside 2020? Also, I' was hearing a roomer that from www.flightsim.to You can down load a 2020/2024 compatable version of the Dassault Falcon 7X. I was hoping to get my hands on the successor to the 7x, which is the 8x. But from this past flight expo, i've seeing that 2024 will have a dassault falcon 50. Wonder if it will be as good as the 7x or 8x? Also, one last favor please. Bob May designed a paint scheme for my df7x. It was a Pittsburgh Steelers football team paint scheme with the registration tail number of N007PS. I sadly lost everyting from my older flight bag. I was told that most and hopefully all of Bob May's paint schemes went to fly away simulation's library. Or something like that. Can anyone help me to find the down load for the revised df7x, and or my missing Pittsburgh Stelleers paint scheme, I'd deeply appreciate it. I can be reached at: [email protected] Very Thankfully Yours, Ron Kolesar AKA The B lind Pilot
  13. Hello, from Ron Kolesar. AKA The blind Pilot. Now, like most from this list, we all enjoyed FSX back in the day. So, it was nice that after trial and error, I was able to find Jorg's e-mail address and started writing to him, to show how blind people interact with their computer. So, you would have thought from our round table telephone discussion phone calls, that the flight team would have taken us seriously for fs 2024. No luck. I have it from a reliable source that fs 2024 isn't still accessible. I hope that Jorg is reading this letter. I've tried over and over to e-mail him with no reply. I know that the letters aren't bouncing back at me, so they must be working? Just my view points for FS 2020 and FS 2024 from a blind person's point of view.
  14. Would love to see the Global 6000 and or the Dassault Falcon 7X, AKA the DF7X, both can be grabbed from the free down load library of Fly away simulation. If at all possible, would love to see the df7X stripped down to it's source code and use that code to create the successor the DF8X. It's been fallen on deaf ears, but the FS 2020 flight simulator is still not accessible to we who need to use a screen reader. Unlike the FS 2020 predeccessor the Flight Simulator version ten AKA the FSX program. So, here's hoping we can get Microsoft to listen to we their customers. Many thanks. Ron Kolesar
  15. I'd like to see the following aircraft. The Global 6,000. OR the Dassault Falcon 7X, AKA The DF7X. Or if we can strip the df7x down to it's source code and grab the stats of the df8x which are out on the dassault web page, we then could design a df8x. Which is the successor to the DF7X. It is nice that MCE will work with fs 2020. But we still can not select the aircraft we'd like to fly like we could in the older FSX program. We also can not file/build a flight plan inside fs 2020 either like we once could do in the older FSX program. I've been trying to show them how a blind person can enjoy flying via the older program fsx and p3d. But it's like they're not listening to us. This is sad. Maybe we can show the fs 2020 team that blind people can and do enjoy flying thanks to their programs and to the additional add on program we need to add so that flying is not only accessible, but is as close to the real world of rules, regulations and flying in general. I thank you for taking the time out to listen to the blind pilot and hope that all from these lists will help to show the Microsoft fs 2020 how blind people can and do enjoy to fly. Very thankfully yours, Ron Kolesar [email protected]
  16. I would love to see the Dassault Falcon 8X aircraft, which is the successor to the older DF7X aircraft.
  17. Hi to all, from Ron Kolesar, AKA The Blind Pilot. I fly thanks to the following three programs. 1. FSX. 2. a bridge of a program called FSUIPC. Which allows FSX to communicate with Third Party programs. 3. Last but not least the voice input program from Canada called It's Your Plane or IYP for short. Their web address is at: www.itsyourplane.com Now I wished that there were a demo of the PFPX program to stress test out. That way one can see if it will work out for what they use. I like the fact that it will give you a random number of both cargo and passengers. Also, I like the fact that it will give you automatically if you so chose your ultimate level cruising alt as well. I have been using the free airplane Manager flight calculator. If you do a internet search for airplane manager flight calculator, you'll find the free calculator. But it gives off inaccurate information. I've tried to explain this the designers of the calculator. But it's like don't call us, we'll call you. So what is everyone's opinion of the PFPX flight planner? I'd really appreciate it if this would get to the person who wrote the program to see about a demo to see if it would work with what I need to use so that blind people man and do enjoy the fly. Long live the Dassault Falcon 7X until we FSX Pilots can get our hands on a working FSX model of the Dassault Falcon 8x airplane. SMILES. Ron Kolesar AKA The Blind Pilot.
  18. Hello from Ron Kolesar. AKA The Blind Pilot. Is there such a thing as aonline calculator or rule of thumb or set formula for figuring out what the best leveled cruising alt should be with any aircraft from departure ICAO to Destination ICAO? Pretty much for private GA flights I'll be flying the Dassault Falcon 7x or DF7X for short. Until we get acopy of the df8x. SMILES. But all flight would be starting from my home of Erie Intl ICAO code of KERI. Now, for the third party program that blind people need to use so that we may take full control of our aircraft It's Your Plane or IYP for short, there's a career mode. I fly the b738 and b744. But when in the career mode you don't have to try and firuge out what is the best leveled cruising alt should be because you're giving your level cruising alt and you just climb to that toc. I know that the DF7X is certified up to a alt of 510 ft. But I wouldn't want to try and climb that high to fly from Erie to Harrisburg, or from Erie To Pittsburgh, or from Erie To Columbus. I probably would want to fly that high to fly to Michigan and or to Indiana. But I probably could get away with flying that high to Yellowstone National Park or over to Disneyland down in Santa Ana Ca. So depending on the aircraft and from the starting ICAO to the finished point ICAO. What's the proper leveled cruising alt calculator or formula for figuring out what the leveled alt should be? Many Thanks. Ron Kolesar AKA The Blind Pilot. I have the following question that I hope my friends might be able to help me out with. Now here's the question.
  19. Hello from Ron Kolesar, AKA The Blind Pilot. In short, I fly thanks to the following three programs. 1. FSX-Gold, now days better known by as simply FSX. 2. a bridge of a program called FSUIPC. Now, FSUIPC allows FSX to communicate with third party programs. 3. Last but not least, the voice input programs from Canada It's Your Plane or IYP for short. Their web page is as follows: www.itsyourplane.com In short, I am looking forward to both Dovetail's flight school and the new up coming newer 64 bit version of FSX. When I play a game, or jump into a simulator and or help out with a project, I make it clear that I too would deeply appreciate it that every feature be 1. blind friendly so that we too may enjoy the program. 2. Just as important that each feature be close to the real world as possible. So, this is why I'm hoping for good things for both the new flight school and for FSX. The only sad thing about the two above programs is this. It looks like you need a steam account to use them. Currently Steam is not blind friendly. We've tried to talk to Valve Corporation about making a audio challenge for steam's security capture screens. But they just will not reply to our letters. So I'm hoping that all will read, sign and help forward the following petition. https://www.change.org/p/valve-corporation-make-the-steam-platform-more-accessible-to-blind-and-visually-impaired-people Also, the only thing that is sad about IYP is that it is all voice input. Now I was a beta tester on a hand to ear flight simulator. But the owner now wants to sell his company and the copyrights to the program. Here's to the future of Dovetail Games two projects. I'm hoping that we can make them work with the IYP program for we blind pilots who has to see through our ears since our eyes just don't work. Also, I'm hoping for Dovetail games can get a huge take off for both of their programs because 1. FSX has needed a facelift to the 64 bit processor world for a long time now. 2. For the flight school. I hope that it is as realistic as possible in evey way. I'm hoping that they were able to hier on actual CFI's to help them out with this project. Because it is the only way I can fly is via my computer. So best of luck to Dovetail games with these to products. Ron Kolesar AKA The Blind Pilot who's hoping that we can get a FSX friendly version of Dassault Falcon8x to fly soon.
  20. Thanks for bringing up this topic Robert. May I call you Bob? I'm blind and I fly via FSX and through a third party voice input program called It's Your Plane or IYP for short. For some weird reason when I use the shift E command it's like the sound effect is in a loop and the command just doesn't want to take effect and also the IYP program keeps yelling at me to secure the dors or hatches. How can we or who do we throw these questions and suggestions to at Microsoft for the newer up coming fs 11? Thanks once again for bringing this up. Blind Pilot.
