February 4, 201214 yr I would like to request for consideration to the next 737NGX SP that there be put in place programmable keys to operate each door on the airplane. Yes, you can do it from within the 2 page "DOORS" area on the FMC/CDU unit. That's convoluted as opposed to being able to assign key commands to operate each door separately, and why not include a "close all doors" and "open all doors" while we're dreaming?Folks who use one way or another to control the airplane with hardware could then assign button commands using Linda or FSUIPC or simply manually hit the key combos to open the doors, instead of having to plow through the FMC/CDU and mouse-click.It's a "LITTLE" thing that could make a "BIG" improvement for those of us with older eyes who prefer to press an actual button or switch in lieu of precisely placing the mouse on the FMC.Just hoping, is all. That said, doff of the cap to the NGX. AMAZING airplane, only one I fly. Stunning achievement in every way.Robert Edited February 4, 201214 yr by rsm R. February 4, 201214 yr When I first read the topic title I thought this would be something along the lines of a simulated keyless entry fob (no idea how that would or even could work)After reading though, you've got a good idea. I don't know if I'd ever use it, but it would be nice to have individual command of all the doors without going into the cdu. February 4, 201214 yr How about an add-on numeric keypad, just re-assign and lable keys. Very cheap and works a treat through USB.Dave Baggs. Dave Baggs. EGLL.

June 13, 201213 yr Thanks for bringing up this topic Robert. May I call you Bob? I'm blind and I fly via FSX and through a third party voice input program called It's Your Plane or IYP for short. For some weird reason when I use the shift E command it's like the sound effect is in a loop and the command just doesn't want to take effect and also the IYP program keeps yelling at me to secure the dors or hatches. How can we or who do we throw these questions and suggestions to at Microsoft for the newer up coming fs 11? Thanks once again for bringing this up. Blind Pilot.
