Just a quick question, does the resolution of the 2D monitor affect the overall load on the GPU to the possible determent of VR.

EG if reducing the resolution of the monitor, or even switching off the monitor, would that enable more 'horse power' to the VR set?

Just a thought.

In a word; No

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

What I do is run the sim in windowed mode and resize the window so that it's smaller. It may not affect the GPU performance, but it does help the HMD with tracking. I've got a big monitor which overwhelms the tracking. A smaller monitor would be sensible.

Certainly in FS20 the smallest possible window provides better performance. The resolution is irrelevant.

In FS24 I find that the windowed size has less effect but I still keep it as small as possible.

Another thing that can result in lower fps for no reason is other applications running.  A few times I had poor performance that I tracked to having my browser open, as soon as I closed it fps went back to normal.
