January 28Jan 28 Commercial Member After installation of MSFS 2024 , I changed the location to a different drive: G:/MSFS 2024 Community. It seems to be ok and I can verify the path under 'My Library'. I think I made a mistake by creating a custom folder in there which I named Community2024. So I have Community and Community2024. If I try to delete the Community2024 it reappears after I reboot my PC? I tried adding my first addon, a free scenery of KMYF airport. Downloaded and unzipped the addon which contained two folders. I place them both either in the Community folder or the Community2024 folder and booted up MSFS. Each time I do it appears MSFS 2024 deletes those folders?!?! Where am I going wrong? thanks, Clutch Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!) January 28Jan 28 You should preferably create under your G:\MSFS 2024 a "Packages" folder, and move to it the contents of the original "Packages" folder, provided you consistently updated the "UserCfg.opt" file entry where the path to the simulator Packages folder is declared, typically the last entry in that file. From the post linked above, and other posts in the same thread, you will get the picture on what each of the folders is used for by MSFS 2024. Hope that helps! January 28Jan 28 I have a similar problem with the Community folder as I installed MSFS2024 on my D:/MSFS2024 and made a Community folder, but addon sceneries and aircrafts, like the Headwind Aa330N, doesn't show up when placed in it. I really can't figure out how to do it correctly, so jcomm, could you please show how the full link should look like to get it working? Jorn Lundtoft I don't always stop and look at airplanes.........Oh wait, Yes I do. January 28Jan 28 Author Commercial Member Thanks for the quick reply. Not sure why I would need to create a 'Packages' folder? I would think MSFS would have created all the required folders to work properly when adding 3rd party addons. Here is what my directory looks like: G:\ TempMirror Community Community2024 Official2020 Official2024 StreamedPackages The Community2024 (which I created), is empty, however when I try to delete it - it reappears! If I copy over the KMYF folder(s) into Comminuty or Comunity2024 - the disappear!?! "TempMirror" is your content being moved, as you said was happening. "Community 2024" is an MSFS 2024 system folder and will be recreated if you delete it. So are all the other folders. The Community folder can be wherever the user wants it to be, but as has been pointed out already, MSFS 2024 must be told where it is. You told MSFS 2024t to move its Community folder and that's what it's doing. I will suggest that until it has finished doing that, you leave it well alone, as it is trying to tell you itself by undoing what you are doing to it. Edited January 28Jan 28 by Reader
