Aerosoft CRJ Question

Featured Replies

I decided to give Aerosoft's upgraded CRJ a flight after over a year of not flying it.   Upgraded to the latest (2024) version.  Flight went ok until after takeoff.  No matter what I did, wasn't able to engage the autopilot.   Mach / trim / yaw dampers were all engaged.   Any idea what the issue is?  Also, can someone remind me how to engage reverse thrust?  I calibrated the throttle to allow for reverse thrust but when in the sim, full aft on the throttle only brought me to Idle.

How are you engaging the auto pilot?  Are you starting from cold and dark or started on the runway? You may have a conflicting key or peripreial assignment.  FS2024 controls and key assignments are an absolute mess.  Check all assignemnts for all periphrials If you start in the air does the autopilot work?

Mach / trim / yaw dampers were all engaged. maybe not. try clicking them 1 by 1 while in the air and then try to activate the AP.

If you can't activate the autopilot they are most likely NOT all engaged. Double check them.

I had this issue and it was a key binding for AP disconnect I had assigned via AAO. When I removed that it worked.

However, I get terrible stuttering and FPS drops with the CRJ - the only aircraft that causes me any issues. Can't use it due to that sadly.

Every time I've had this issue, it's because the Yaw Dampers were not engaged.  Using TrackIR, the way I have my view set up for the CRJ V2, means that I can't see the very top 'slice' of the upper EICAS.... it's that very top 'slice' that had yellow alerts saying "Yaw Damper not engaged". ☺️

Press the two buttons and then no issues engaging the AP.
