I love this aircraft. Stupid complicated.

After flying Soviet addon aircraft such as the MiG-21, Mi-8, Mi-24, Ka-50 and others, CAN CONFIRM! 😎

always a great experience whenever one needs a change of pace! 🤙

It always seems everything is as manual as it gets... The 154 is a little better in that regard, but the 134 is preposterous about how many instruments you can have active on APU. It's super easy to overload the CPU. It's not THAT much better on the 154, but the 134 takes the cake. Even the startup procedure on the 154 sometimes kicks my butt - I have had a few times when I seem to be doing everything the way I used to do it, but the engines wouldn't start for some reason.

Ha!😁 seems like the Russians didn’t install enough reserve gen power!

Eg, in the Mi-8 and Mi-24, overloading the rotor by pulling too much collective will also cause the Gens to go undervoltage.

And there’s a fan for the pilot, and (perhaps apocryphally), if it slows or stops, you know your Gens are way low, so you better ease up!

Even Tho there’s audible warnings, the fan is right in your face, so it’s a good “heads up display” for that condition! 😂

Haha! I never thought of the fans as indicators of whether there is enough power... 🙂 That's hilarious! I do know that until your engines are started and gens are on, you should leave all the navigation systems off etc. Definitely hydraulics too. The only thing you do is pressurize the brakes and then switch hydraulics off until engine start. It's a super tedious procedure. Those guys and gals REALLY had to work a lot harder than the modern ones. Everything required so much more effort to make things work.

And then, over all that, they had to be able to read Cyrillic !!! But hey, they're a lot more clever than we are, after all their children start speaking Russian around 2yo ... and they even are able to write cyrillic around 4-5 yo 😁

I mean... I was born there and yes, that was my first language, so it doesn't seem to be of any difficulty to me. 🙂

😁 I tell the same "story" about the native languages of all countries of the World... Their little children are always very clever/ talented, because they learn their languages soon during their youth 😁
