  • Okay did my first flight with FTL. I like it. Flew into KORD from KDEN and changed my airline to UAL. I did this because Denver is a key hub for United, giving me a lot more flight options. Some of th

I haven't tried it with the Caravan yet, but yes. I flew the BlackSquare Bonanza with FTL a lot between the Shetlands and the Orkney islands to small airports.

But the long-haul extension is in the works. I believe it will go to closed beta soon, but don't quote me on this 🙂

This is tangential but you seem willing to entertain new ideas.  I use BATC for most all flights.  Prior to figuring out how to cope with NV DLSS FG visual aberrations, primarily from the low rate of 60FPS-fg I typically employ, I used to never use BATC's traffic injection and management.  What I discovered when using FSLTL's injection were a couple of things that helped offset the fact one no longer interacts with other traffic per se.  And they are:

  1. Lowered frame rate impact by close to 50% with relatively the same amount of traffic.  It mattered then because I was not using FG and tried to stay around 45FPS-native.
  2. i immediately noticed AI traffic animation was vastly smoother when running FSLTL's injection.
  3. And this was not expected:  BATC's ground management has been worse than FSLTLs.  I have had BATC turn other planes directly into me several times, or get stuck and not move, or tell me to hold for traffic that is on another taxiway a long ways away, it's just bizarre.  FSLTL has actually done pretty well with stopping as i am approaching them it's like it has at least as much 'intelligence' as BATC or more.
  4. Since I also use LiveATC for area ATC chatter it's nice to not have BATC's chatter happening.

You do miss that key feature of interacting with traffic but you still get ATC instruction from BATC even though it's not managing AI traffic.  I do it both ways, sometimes using BATC and sometimes FSLTL's injection.

I tried using FSLTL injection and you are right, it is super smooth. In the past when i used FSLTL injection i also saw much more ai traffic in the sky during my flights. I might look into LiveATC.

Thanks Noel.
