Static aircraft, to be or not to be

It actually annoys me to buy a nice GA airport only to find it empty.  You need a diagram to find parking because there's not a single plane there.  Again I'm talking smaller airports, not the big boys.

Completely agree here.  Default 2024 is pretty much devoid of GA traffic even with max settings, and the choices for GA traffic addons are limited.  I'm always disappointed when I add a new GA airport only to find it a deserted ghost town.  I get the arguments for options at the big fields, but for the smaller ones I frequent, at least some static planes are preferred.

Static GA planes are fine (and indeed very welcome) at larger airports, but static airliners are a big NO, NO. I wish that I could remove them at a handful of my airports, but that is very unlikely. Two of them are PilotPlus products (EGGD Bristol and EGMC Southend) from MSFS 2020, so the chances of the static airliners (and a couple of executive jets in the case of Southend) being removed are basically zero. There is a file on flightsim.to to remove the static commercial jets at Gaya ENCN Kristiansand, but it does not add the missing AI parking spots, so that defeats the entire point of having them removed.

Chris. I feel the same about static GA as you do about static commercial. I guess it depends on in what area of the airport we usually frequent perhaps and what type of airports. If you fly mostly commercial jets you might not visit the GA apron all that often and it might not matter. I on the other hand spend all my time there as the Cows DA40/42 are my beasts of choise and I want my GA to be as realistic as possible.

It seem you are missing some of our best ATC addons then, SI and or BeyondATC. They add plenty of commercial and GA traffic, In fact I flew out of a Tampa Florida GA airport just yesterday and it was full of SI generated moving Cessnas, Pipers, Diamonds and what have you and I only had the Ga slider to 6 out of 11 I believe. Add to that you can setup even more parking spots and it will add more traffic, to an insane level if that is what ones wants. To me the time of static planes is gone and I will not spend a dime on one where its not optional

I'm well aware of both SI and BATC, their features and their limitations and, like many, I choose not to use either one at this time.  It's an informed decision.

Glad they meet your needs, really, but for many of us they do not.
