The result was most entertaining, but it didn't look remotely like a house. Sure, that was just a single query, and I am sure one can train AI to do that properly. But it would need serious efforts and would almost certainly require a company and a lot of investments to create individual buildings in a satisfactory way.PeterChatGPT is too much of a generalist model. You'd want to find something that's specifically trained to spit out 3D models based on prompts - similar to how the dedicated video AI models will always do better with video than something like ChatGPT or Grok.
June 11Jun 11 Interestingly enough, Apple maps just released info that strongly suggests they'll be switching to Gaussian Splatting for their global 3d modeling. I find it unlikely that their competitors will not fairly quickly follow suit.....It seems to be an uninspiring subject here, but I suspect it will eventually be just about all we are talking about, for realistic city generation.https://www.techradar.com/computing/software/apple-maps-has-a-huge-ios-27-upgrade-on-the-way-for-flyover-that-will-help-you-see-cities-around-the-world-like-never-before-and-users-think-its-down-to-gaussian-splatting-the-next-big-3d-photography-craze Edited June 11Jun 11 by HiFlyer We are all connected..... That's impressive
