Win Wing Sim App Pro set up with MSFS2024

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Recently I purchased the Win Wing Ursa Minor side stick.

My naivety thought me that it would be a simple plug and play with FS2024 but I soon found out that was not to be the case.

As all Win Wing users will know that you first have to install the Sim App Pro program and set it up with your installed game.

This is where my problems start.

How do I link Win App Pro with my installed FS2024 ?

I believe you have to map very specific folder paths in the game with the App before you can do any "Key Binding".

Is there any good tutorial  info available on how to set up the app correctly with the Sim ?

Thanks again.

Barry

Hm. I only own their FCU and MCDU but there is no binding. Plug and Play. I start SimApp Pro and then FS2024. That’s it.
Besides that I typically use Mobiflight …

I've highlighted in yellow what SAP is looking for, specifically:

1.) "wgs" folder

2.) "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024" folder

3.) "OneStore" folder

4.) "Community" folder

Select the 3 dots at the end of each field and navigate to and select the folder indicated. If you have selected the wrong folder, or an invalid path, the text in the field will be red. For each path that is correct the text will be white.

That should be all you need...but of course I have assumed you have the MS Store version...if not simply do the same thing for the Steam fields.

AFAIK the only thing simapppro did for me was update the firmware on my Navy throttle, it didn't help with  mappings and generally I don't use it.

AxisAndOhs is what I use...

Not sure I understand you?  My FMC, EFIS L&R, MCP all work because of SimAppPro, nothing else needed

There are alternatives like MobiFlight, AxisAndOhs (Page 33 onwards), others ... but they either require download of a profile or to manually map all the events and test and hope ... this can be a very long and exhaustive process and if the wrong event is triggered could lead to a CTD etc.

Don't get me wrong, I think these tools are excellent, but for someone new that just wants to install and fly, SimAppPro is the simplest and easiest option.

For complex custom hardware I'm sure it is,  but for my throttle it made no mappings and the OP has a joystick which is similar...

I bought their rudder pedals a couple of weeks ago, Orion 32. They work fine without having to install any Winctrl software.
