April 24Apr 24 Author P3DV5. I don't have Lorbys organiser but I do have Fortek. Had a lot of problems setting up Orbx, but all good now.
April 26Apr 26 Author Sorry Ray, The Orbx thing is sorted but still getting the "P3D has detected non sequential layer within the scenery library list."

As for Orbx it has died totally, so I will try to uninstall and re-install. Before it died I kept getting errors and it kept saying I did not own any software. Now Simconnect has stopped working and the dash 8 has also died. I am thinking that I have HDD problems. I have used Fortekt but hopeless. The new version of Windows unrecognisable, the interface is unrecognisable. Sorry to burdon you with this but I am having trouble working out the right support centre for the right issues. I might just put a new HDD in and start again, hopefully without Win11. Regards, Kevin
April 28Apr 28 Moderator Kevin, don't do anything drastic at this point. To check the integrity of your HDD do the following:- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run chkdsk C: /f /r /x to locate bad sectors and repair file system errors. Please note you need to respond Y and reboot your PC. When it starts the check begins. Report the results. In all honesty if the HDD is failing get a SSD but if possible do a backup of your entire HDD using free software like Aomei. https://www.aomeitech.com/ab/ Another thing you could do is right-click the Windows Start button, select Event Viewer - select Event Viewer (Local) and report how many Critical and Error entries in the last hour. April 28Apr 28 Moderator When you've completed the check do this to find the results:- How to Find the CHKDSK Log: Method 1: Event Viewer (Recommended) Right-click Application and select Filter Current Log.... In the "Event sources" dropdown, check Chkdsk and Wininit. Locate the most recent entry with Wininit as the source to view the log. Copy and paste the results from the entry, Ray (Cheshire, England). April 29Apr 29 Author OK, I've outsmarted myself, shut down Onedrive again, turns out it was controlling everything. everything I try to do gets "Access denied, you do not have permission to access Onedrive." I am looking at going to Apple Mac as I am sick of Microsoft. Well I've vented, but can't see that working. The other alternative install a new HDD. All my data files are on 😧 so it is only the sim that will need to be installed. I guess this is where I come accross some 'Maximum number of installs exceeded." The current drive is SSD. Problem, I will have to download the latest Win 11 (with Onedrive attached) no doubt. I figure if I can kill Onedrive immediately after install I should be able to sort things out my way. I appreciate your support.
April 29Apr 29 I was reading this topic but I am a bit puzzled. First of all, I don't understand the comment about "The new version of Windows unrecognisable, the interface is unrecognisable.". What is this new version you're mentioning here ? I'm using Windows10 at home and Windows11 on my laptop and hardly see any differences, excepted in the "Start" menu 😕 Then about OneDrive, I have it active on both my computers, and its role is only to duplicate my files to the cloud. My files stay on the computer until I specifically ask OneDrive to "free up space", which gets rid of the file on the computer to keep only the copy on the cloud. There's a configuration in OneDrive that lets you specify which folders should be duplicated to the cloud. My sim folder is not included in the list, for example. This is most-likely the kind of configuration you might want to inspect to ensure it's not trying to duplicate useless folders. I have never faced any access issues, so you might want to check if your OneDrive is configured properly, if everything is up to date and finally if you are correctly identified/logged on the the Microsoft online services.
April 29Apr 29 Moderator @whisky, you can find the solutions to problems by asking Google. I entered “unable to access onedrive” and several solutions were offered. It’s more complicated to run P3D on a Mac than Windows PC so you’re best off sticking with Windows despite the problems you’re experiencing with OneDrive. I’ve never used that feature but i can’t imagine it’s difficult to remove files from it. Certainly no P3D files should be on it. You keep talking about a new HDD but then say you have an SSD. I’m confused. Perhaps you could start by describing your hardware. Plus how many times have you reinstalled P3D. Finally, I asked you to run Chkdsk. How did that go? Ray (Cheshire, England). Reinstalled P3D Once 32gb ram, 500gb ssd, 1tb HDD,Gigabyte 12gb graphics. CHKDSK No apparent issues there. Onedrive problem starts on bootup. Says "Access denied, you do not have permission to access desktop" From there it is hard to access most other files. If I can stop the "Access denied" on bootup, it could go a long way to resolving the issue.
April 29Apr 29 Moderator Reinstalling P3D will be fine if required. I doubt it’s necessary. Get rid of the HDD once these problems are resolved. A 1Tb SSD won’t cost much and is far more stable plus much faster. Googling that problem suggests “To fix the "Access denied, you do not have permission to access desktop" error in OneDrive, you need to re-sync your account, adjust Windows security permissions, or clear cached credentials. Key solutions include ensuring OneDrive is running, taking ownership of the Desktop folder, and checking for organization-level restrictions. Quick Fixes Restart OneDrive: Click the OneDrive icon in the taskbar, select the cog icon (Settings), and select "Quit OneDrive." Then, relaunch it from the Start menu. Check Sync Status: Ensure OneDrive is actually running and signed in. Sign In Again: Sign out of all Microsoft 365 applications, then sign in to OneDrive again. Ray (Cheshire, England). Hi, 1st up I am not getting a desktop, screen is just blank/black. The only way I can access anything is to use Windows key, then select from there. e.g. Chrome. That comes up but still nothing else is accessable. I can select programs from the Windows key but still no desktop as such. If I shut down Chrome, screen reverts to solid black. At no time are programs showing on the task bar. Regards Kevin
