May 7May 7 Good morning I haven't been able to access the avsimrus website for a few days. Does anyone know why? Was it also suddenly shut down, or is it just maintenance? It's a source of excellent scenery and Russian aircraft, and that would be a real shame! It followed the fate of flightsim.com, which, despite the promise of reopening, has yet to appear. Let's hope at least avsim.com doesn't close; it's the only one left. Thanks at all Andrea
May 8May 8 thats sad, its all bad news these days darrensfs9site.weebly.com @darrenvox My Youtube Channel
May 8May 8 The website https://www.avsimsu.com/ is functioning normally. There was a roughly 12-hour outage due to maintenance work. Everything is now working, and the search function in the “Files” section has been restored.
May 8May 8 Andrea, Even allthough the Russian FS site now seems to back on line, do not forget the old faithfull SIMVIATION.COM site. Hans

If I use the link above then the Russian FS site opens normally and in full. However, if I use my own manny years old and trustworthy Bookmarks link, which is exactly the same as the above link, I get the message that the site is down. Very strange indeed. Hans
May 9May 9 I deleted the existing URL from my Russian bookmark, typed the URL in from the above post and suddenly it's working again, even although it was exactly the same as the deleted one ??? Great mystery. Hans
May 12May 12 Author I used Bielicki's link, and indeed the avsimrus site opens, but only in Cyrillic. If I use the "English version" option, it says the server is offline! Could this be retaliation for the situation we know about? (Political?) Hans: I didn't forget simviation.com! In fact, someone suggested another link in this post, but it strangely disappeared. Are these difficulties related to my PC, or my browser? By Andrea
May 14May 14 Andrea,I have exactly the same problem as you have - the English version is somehow not available ---- yet.I/we certainly hope that their technical guys can fix the problem soon.Hans
May 14May 14 Mine is in English.I'm using the following link..Files - Avsim.su Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
May 14May 14 Administrators I have this neat little goodie that pops up whenever I'm on a non-Englsh site. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
May 15May 15 Charlie Aron,Can you please supply a link to your "neat little goody" and explain how and where it should be installedThanks in advance.Hans++++++++Robin,Your supplied link does not connect to the Avsimsu English version but only to the Russian one, while the "translate to English" click spot on the site itself remains blocked.Hans
May 15May 15 Administrators I think that Goodie is part of the Chrome operating system on my Chromebook laptop! I'll do some Googlesearching to verify that! It is real handy! From Google:Yes, a Google Translate popup feature is available on Windows computers, primarily through web browser extensions and built-in Chrome functionality [5.6, 5.7]. You can highlight text to get an instant translation bubble or have entire webpages translated via a popup near the address bar [5.8]. May 15May 15 I've just downloaded quite a few aircraft.I'm using Edge, & the site comes up in English.Files - Avsim.su Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
May 15May 15 Charlie Aron,Thanks for pointing my nose in the right direction. I've now found the procedure for automatically translating anything from the Internet from Russian into English. It turned out to be a standard method within windows, which I had never seen before, maybe introduced via a recent automatic Windows update and without me noticing it.Even my old bookmark pointing to Avsimsu now automatically translates the whole site as soon as it is opened. Thanks again.Hans
