This is why I avoided GSX for so long. I got it installed. Now I have to hope that it actually works.

Not required for 2020 or 2024. That was used with P3D

Of course it was installed.

Or, more likely: you had very old version which you haven't uninstalled correctly, so the SODE registry key was still in your registry, so the Installer that checks everything that can possibly cause issues, as alerted you to either remove it or upgrade it.

I did not have any SODE installed.

The error came up so I looked online for a SODE version.

I could not find one. I looked on my drives and found "Installer_SODE_v1.8.0"

I installed it and the error is now gone.

Lastly, I just tried GSX and it's pretty cool.

Now I just need to learn how to use it with my PC-24. It looks like I'll be doing some studying today. 😁

But you still have either FSX or P3D installed (or at least their keys still in the registry) , and the installer can't possibly decide if you are still using any of these, it only checks that, if you have either FSX or P3D still installed, you must install SODE or update it if it's too old.

When you got that message, the installer used to open the SODE website, but this function has been removed because the SODE website has been down for a while so, it's up to you find a downloaded version, which you had.

Due to the fact that I have FSX installed, because I need it for my GoFlight Modules, the installer checks if SODE is installed. If I did not have FSX installed, there would not be an error. Got it!

Someone was kind enough to create a GSX profile for the PC-24:

I will give it a try.

The creator says in the page that there are some known issues and I will try to fix it. It's what I do. 🙂
