Now that PMDG is done with us. I want to uninstall PMDG, but who would anyone recommend for a 737?

I think iFly is your best option. I don’t have their NG package but do have their Max and it’s good.

The NG package is good i believe. I think the only thing missing is windscreen rain effects, which the max has. I think the NG base package includes the -800 and -900, and there is an expansion package for the -600 and -700 which is reasonably priced. The only reason I’ve never picked up the NG from them is because repaints are relatively limited, or not as many as the ngxu had at least. Now with pmdg OC2 going away, installing repaints is a big problem for the ngxu. I think the ifly NG package never got much attention because many already had the ngxu and didn’t bother with the ifly versions of the same plane.

The max is the newer release of the two and includes the ngx base as well as a free max 8200 expansion. It got more attention than the NG package because it was the only max in P3d.

Both the NG and max were made specifically for v5 and with EA enabled. They work with EA off but don’t look as good.

I’d suggest looking at the ifly website so you can take a look at them.

I’ve been flying the iFly NG since the FSX days and kept using it through P3Dv4.5. Eventually, I switched over to the PMDG NGXu, mostly because it was on sale and had a much bigger selection of liveries. I also own the iFly MAX8 and really enjoy it, although I’m still disappointed that iFly won’t be releasing the rest of the MAX series for P3Dv5.

I agree with @okupton comments, and I’ve been thinking more and more about picking up the Advanced Series. From my own experience with iFly—and I’ll admit I don’t consider myself an expert flyer—I honestly don’t see a huge difference between iFly and PMDG. Moving from iFly to PMDG in v4 was pretty seamless.

The biggest difference I notice is on the ground. With iFly, I find myself working the throttles a bit more during taxi to keep the speed under control. On descent, I also seem to use the spoilers more often with iFly. Other than that, most of the FMS inputs feel very similar between the two aircraft.

One thing I do miss is the ACARS menu in PMDG. Ground services are handled a little differently, too: iFly uses the EFB, while PMDG handles them through the FMS. Aircraft configuration is done through an external app, and you can also set fuel weights and passenger loads there if you’d rather not use the EFB.

Overall, I think the iFly 737 holds its own against PMDG. It’s a solid aircraft, and I’d be perfectly happy flying it.

Just to pipe in a say I wholly agree with the two above. Ifly is a very good alternative to the NGXu.

You’ve paid good money for something that as far as I know still works fine. Why do you want to stop using something you’ve bought?

I continue to enjoy the 737NGXu in v5.3HF2.

Hi, Ray. I have all of the PMDG'S, and expansions. I'm sure you've heard that they don't support p3d anymore. The operation center is now inoperable for us. I just feel like it's insulting, after all, we made them so much money, from fsx, to p3d. I have MSFS, but I'm not about to buy them again. I have p3dv5.4.

Not sure that you should expect anyone to support anything forever least of all obsolete software (COBOL excepted LOL ).. After all, the secret to happiness is low expectations. :-)

I’m not one but thanks all the same. 😁 I don’t have the 787 but I did take Concorde up today. Lisbon to Manchester in 1h 28m.

It takes another hour in an Airbus or Boeing. 😉
