January 1, 200620 yr Commercial Member The GPS_INFO structure and the GPS_WP_INFO structure don't seem to have the information that's displayed in the second and third fields of the default GPS. Where does this information come from? The first field in the default GPS is the waypoint ICAO identifier. But the second and third fields show a city/state/waypoint full name. Is there another structure not listed in gps_info.h that contains this data?

January 1, 200620 yr Moderator Jan, he's needing the information in a C gauge. The XML data isn't directly available, but is 'fetchable' via some serious coding kung-fu... ;) Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
January 1, 200620 yr Commercial Member Yes, it looks like that's what I'm seeking. Do you have to wait for a waypoint to be in a flight plan to get to those values? Or can you reach those values artitrarily before the waypoint has been entered into the GPS?Ooops, Bill beat me to the issues!!!! Kung-Fu, here we go.......
January 2, 200620 yr Author The city/state information only exists if the waypoint is associated with an airport record. That information doesn't exist for a "free-standing" waypoint. Gerry Howard
