I was sorry to hear this too. My condolences to your family Tom, and best wishes always.

Yes, we could all add to this list of condolences. Maybe we ought to do just that even though Tom will be unlikely to read it right now. Bob, please convey our condolences.Hans Petter

I am very sad to see the bad news.Tom beeing our moderator has done a very good job here along withFrank Betts and the norwegian half blood man over at the racing sim community.I have also lost one of my family members during 2002, and things like that hurts a lot.So Tom take your time with your family, and be with them.We will always be here when you return.Lars Peter.:-wave

"Bob, please convey our condolences."Hans Petter,I will indeed do that when he calls. But he will of course see all this, as it won't be me that unpins this thread. I will leave it alone until he returns here.He and his wife Rhonda drove to Washington, as planned, and if my figuring is correct, they are in Montana now.

http://www.avsim.com/other/usaribbon.gifBob "FlyBert" StilesAVSIM Moderator

"Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"~Richard Harvey, 1/21/2003

Tom,For when you get back online and in the fold...I too have just heard this news (thanks Naji). From all of us at AVSIM, please accept our condolances for your loss. We mourn your loss and the grievous wound to our AVSIM family member. If there is anything at all that we can do to make that loss easier, you know where to find me.

Thank you for all the kind thoughts. :)This was a difficult trip in many ways. On the way there Rhonda's '98 Chevy Blazer self destructed late at night on top of 4th of July Pass in Northern Idaho. We had to have it towed to Liberty Lake Washington... thank God for cell phones... now I finally know why I own one. The cost to repair it was 7 to 10 thousand and 7 to ten days. They seemed to like those numbers. Of course neither was a acceptable option. We traded it on a '03 Oldsmobile maxi-sized mini-van and continued West. Upon arrival I discovered that my remaining sister had taken no steps toward getting my mom's services or affairs arranged. So we got that taken care of and it all worked out well in the end. Now a nephew who got out of the Army 18 years ago to take care of his mom (my sister Linda who died in March) after a blood vessel had popped in her head and promptly abandonded her & my mom once the papers were final has suddenly resurfaced in hopes of claiming some inheritance after no word for all these years. Well I have news for him... there ain't gonna be much.So the heck with all that. I miss my mom. She was not only my mother but also my friend. I live 1,500 miles away but I miss our talks a couple of times a week. We talked about everything from the weather to politics... she had a good mind to the end. I am thankful for that.Right now all I can say is that I am really, really, glad to be home!

Hi Tom, glad to know you're already safely back.I know what it is all about, having lost my mother-in-law last year and my dad the year before. I hope you'll manage to get over it soon, anyway.Best wishes,
