October 1, 200223 yr I haven't been visiting the forum much lately but I've got to ask. Pardon if it's been asked before. Is it possible to have, in version 3, the pilot request a push & start from the gate he's actually at? In other words, if I'm at KIAH Gate C-40, could I input that into the adventure and have it sent out in the request? The alpha-numerics are already done so maybe it wouldn't be too difficult? Maybe, we could also put in the gate we're headed to at the arrival airport??? :-kewl Steve Lewis, KCLE
October 1, 200223 yr Steve,You can in fact list specific dept and arr gates in v3. It's there. I don't recall whether the gate's voiced in the push/start routine but know for sure it is when you call Ground.Doug
October 1, 200223 yr When requesting push and start, and when contacting ground "Ready to Go", the pilot reports the gate/stand (for obvious reasons ;-)).
October 2, 200223 yr Whilst on the subject, as in certain parts of the world the 250 below 10000 is not a legal requirement (in the U.K. only outside controlled airspace) will it be possible to ask for High Speed descent or request to keep the speed we have and also for ATC to ask us for different speeds dependent on traffic, i.e. "maintain 180 to the marker" etc.?
October 2, 200223 yr Commercial Member if you check the aircraft type "heavy" then you can request 250 kt reliefyou can also modify the altitude below which you are expected to fly at 250ktsatc will not give you specific speeds to fly JD Read my blog
October 6, 200223 yr Also, I am told that 747s are allowed to exceed 250 kts -- that they often fly out at 280.RG
October 6, 200223 yr RG, If you click on "heavy" in the options for ver 3, you'll be able to fly out at 280 in your 747 too. :-)Best, Rob

http://avsim.com/flightdeck/images/Radar_small.gifBeta tester for http://www.jdtllc.com' target="_blank">Radar Contact] the premier ATC adventure add-on for FS
October 7, 200223 yr Will V3 run as an adventure, or will it be "LIVE" as I don't really use adventures. I just strap the aircraft on, and fly out, sometimes using the default ATC.Cheers Alaister Kay
October 7, 200223 yr Commercial Member it won't be an adventure, but it will take a little more than spooling the engines up, and taking offyou will have to make a flight plan, or use a canned flight plan, and load it into radar contact. then you can spool up your engines... JD Read my blog
October 7, 200223 yr Author But, no one has answered the BIG question: When, oh when will V3 be available?? FS2004 will be out soon. :-dohSteve KCLE
