November 26, 200223 yr Blais,Listen to Stamatis :-lolAircraft.cfg file parameters take precedence on same in the air file, if none is set for VS in the aircraft.cfg file (lack thereof in an FS2002 model or importing a previous version model) FS default VS of 1800ft/min is applied... As you experimented :-)Requesting clearance for RCv3... :-jumpy---All the BestKaty Pluta
November 26, 200223 yr Stamatis, Yes it does seem that you called it correctly. The CFG seems to be the controlling factor. (Got to remember this now.) Therefore Sir, I am wrong in assuming the AIR file was the determining file for V/S. I stand corrected. Thanks for hanging in,Regards
November 26, 200223 yr Hi Katy, Got it down pat now. Gone are the old days as Billy moves on to new ventures and new hiding place, (Got to forget FS98.) I do have one question though: It appears that the entry in the AIR file itself serves no purpose. As that doesn't quite seem to be sound design I wonder why the entry in the first place? See if I can contact Mike Vidal for that's more down his line. Thanks Katy and Stamatis. Have a good ThanksgivingRegards
November 26, 200223 yr The PSS airbus panel, on the center pedestal has 2 com radios. When you first configure the aircraft (after turning on the batteries and such), it looks like 1 radio is set to com1 and the second to com2. Does changing both radios to com2 tell fsatc to use com2? Or does it not matter?
November 26, 200223 yr Richard,No problem with either the DF737 or 767PIC.The DF lets you select comm 2 as default from its own audio panel. With 767PIC it's just a case of adding a comm 2 window. A five minute job all covered in the manual :)The PSS A320 does, as you probably realise, have a switchable comm 2 radio but for some reason it fails to become the active when selected. Maybe the guys over at PSS can have a look at that. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
November 27, 200223 yr Yes it has Stamatis. Hmmmm. Different than FS98. Have to see if I can find where this default is coming from. So, you indeed were correct initially.Regards
November 27, 200223 yr Maybe a dumb question but anyway...If you use Comm2 for FS ATC, do you have to keep changing the frequency when traveling from one control zone to another in order to get appropriate ATC or any ATC for that matter? I assume you would. Might make for a little extra work (researching and writing down all the frequencies along your route), but certainly not a problem if one wants 'realistic' ATC chatter from FS.On another note, it says that you can either do a full install and use the pre-recorded real ATC chatter. So, RC can load the appropriate chatter files for the route you are flying? That's fantastic, if I'm understanding this correctly. WOW, I can't wait for this program :-yellow1 :-yellow1 :-yellow1 :-yellow1 Now, please, please tell me about holding. Have you been issued one? I bet it's GREAT! :-yellow1 :-yellow1 :-yellow1 :-yellow1 Thanks, Adam
November 27, 200223 yr You can select which radio is active. You need to make Com2 active, and have the other radio set to Com1 to see what RC is tuned to.Then you can do the usual ATC window open, see if you need to change freqs, click 1 to change, and close the window.Just DON'T talk with FSATC.Something else to remember: You will probably have to assign shift-ctrl to the RC keys so you don't conflict with FS engine control and FSATC control.
November 27, 200223 yr Commercial Member holding after a missed approach :-) or that boring enroute holding :-lol JD Read my blog
November 27, 200223 yr Adam,Yes. You will have to open the FSATC window, and if you need to change freq, then do so.Well, if you have appropriate chatter for all the sectors or airports, then yes, it will play the right chatter for the right places. Otherwise, it's pretty much national chatter (like 2.2 has) or synth chatter where no canned exists. It's just a lot easier to add canned chatter now.Holding sucks. This is a flight simulator, not a flying around in circles simulator. I don't think JD even did any holding! :-lolCheers,--Scott
November 27, 200223 yr Commercial Member doug tested holding though :-lola very good job of testing too! JD Read my blog
November 27, 200223 yr I'll be sitting around holding something until RC v.3 is released :-eek :-lol I've been using the KSAN-KSFO 2.2 sample and been desperately trying to lie to the RC center controller (is that allowed? :()asking for a deviation for weather so I can sneak in a hold. Likely wouldn't work anyway...since I'd be going in the WRONG DIRECTION! Can't you see how desperate I'm getting??? Send me RC v.3 NOW!!!:-lol Adam
