December 13, 200520 yr One other thing too. If you choose to send the register e-mail manually, In addition to your name and product ID they neglect to mention that you have to let them know what version of RC you need a key for. Now let me think . . .Terry
December 13, 200520 yr Moderator Terry,I don't know where you're trying to go in your post saying "now let me think" but all I can tell you is that JD, Rick & Team wouldn't neglect anything, a simple oversight, possibly. If there is a team in flightsim history that has "integrity" on the very top of their list, then that team would be the RC team.I just received my CD today and can't wait for my key either (hint, hint JD ;-)) but knowing that I invested in the most advanced ATC add-on including nothing short of the best support out there a few hours more won't hurt me and I know the patience will pay off in thousands of hours of joy with what I'm positive will be another milestone in virtual controlling for flightsim.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
December 13, 200520 yr Pete,When you send them back your name with the number they just sent you I woundn't think it would be that hard to determine what key you're asking for. Especially when there is no mention to inclued what version key you need. That's all.Terry
December 13, 200520 yr Commercial Member we've had a number of key requests from people wanting version 3 keys. why? i don't know. some people think they have to have v3 running before you can install v4.that is why they question.i went to extraordinary links to make the registration process simple. push a button, i format an email that can be processed automatically, and i say about 20% of the people are using it. that means your keys are processed manually (ie longer).the quick start guide was pretty clear on how to send off for a key.so bear with rick, you should see some of the emails requests for keys he gets.here's a good one03202020thanksi'm sure by now, you have your key, a v4 key no lessjd JD Read my blog
December 13, 200520 yr Rick kept right on it. I got my key a few minutes ago. The new interface looks great. I will take a check ride tomorrow.Terry
December 13, 200520 yr I used the interface provided to request my key. It took a really long time to receive a reply with the key......about 20 minutes!!Great product. It's a pleasure doing business with all of you at RC.Dom
December 13, 200520 yr >I used the interface provided to request my key. It took a>really long time to receive a reply with the key......about 20>minutes!!>That's what is particularilary annoying about this registration process. I used the interface too and I've been waiting for 16 hours without a peep. I really feel like my email went off into the ether never to be seen by anyone. Kinda like putting your name down at a busy restaurant and everyone else seems to be getting seated while you wait in starvation. So I guess all I can do is wait...
December 13, 200520 yr In my message above, I wrote this "tounge in cheek" to mean that my key was processed quickly and efficiently, and was meant as a compliment to RC. Everyone seems to want instant gratification...and that is not fast enough sometimes. Relax and enjoy the product.Dom

Everyone seems to want instant>gratification...and that is not fast enough sometimes. Relax>and enjoy the product.I also want to be clear that I do appreciate the work JD and company do and the product they provide, else I would not have paid for upgrades from v2->v3->v4. But I think it is also fair to be critical of their registration system otherwise it will never improve. I don't think it is quite fair to accuse/imply someone of seeking instant gratification who has waited since Dec 2 first for a CD to be shipped, then waiting for a key. I have purchased many things on line and for whatever reason, RC has been and continues to be the most difficult product I've seen to actually get what you paid for. There are so many excellent on-line purchase systems available for developers I don't understand why RC continues to make it hard on everyone. And honestly, now I'm beginning to wonder if the email really went out to them. At least an automated "Your mail has been recieved, expect a key in 24 hours" message would make me feel better. I wish I could relax and enjoy the product. That's exactly what I want to be doing.Don
