prob with blank display in advdisp

Featured Replies

anyone please explain what could be causing this? it was working ok yesterday for 1 flight although I had problems with the green text flickering on and off within the advdisp box.many thanksgraham

Do you have multiline checked by right clicking on the box?

I don't even get that type of box. I have a gray box with red lettering in it that is showing my flightplan. The only way I am flying right now is to let the copilot handle the communications.I've gone through the manual and quickstart so many times it's driving me crazy. I must be missing something very simple, any help would be aprreciated.Other than that, I can't get enough of RC4. Great job guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

was rc running when you took that screen shot? had you clicked start on rc?jd

The gray box without borders is what you get after it is docked (right click) in your current aircraft. Red lettering is normal unless you right click and change the text color.I do not know where your flight plan is coming from. You are using regular flight plans (.pln) for loading into RC and not adv. plans, right?Again, right click on the gray box and be sure Multi-Line is checked. There is also as I recall a setting by right clicking unless it was removed tgo show FS ATIS in that box as well. Are you usuing another add-on that might be capable of displaying your flight plan into the advdisp box? Are you running any concurrent flight planner with a moving map that also offers to display your plan? Also, if using a weather add-on that offers to display reporting stations as they occur be sure that is turned off to avoid conflict and clutter.

Might help to add this items to your checklists:Grp 1:o start FS9 o Fly now! w/desired a/co position a/c at start airport+gate w/weather as desired or real timeo Modules - enable ADVDisp - dock/lock w/multiline(sticky)o load FS9 flight plan (could be done later)Grp 2(in order):( run RCo load same flight plan into RC and make settingso click 'start RC'... fly ...grp 3 (in order):( stop RC (via final menu item ADVDisp goes blank - Windows program exits automagically)o Modules - disable ADVDispo end flighto exit FS9I think the above order is correct and getting them out of order causes problems. One or two steps may be swapped within groups but the flow has to be followed in general. No real sure about the flight plan stuff.

in grp 1, advdisp will remember that it is enabled for each aircraft. and if you have docked it and set it's options, they will be remembered for each aircraftin grp3, i wouldn't disable advdispjd
