Just got it and upgraded to 4.1When should RC be started? Say before you start the flight or wait till you start it and sitting in the plane?Right now when I start, the dialog box is already open and I cannot see any commands or use my keyboard. I have to lft or right click the mouse to close it. Then reopen it from the top modules. Eventually I get something to choose from and my keyboard works. I see no real method it either works or does not.Also, sometimes the delay from when I respond to a command is so long, sometimes 30 seconds or longer, the controller barks at me.If I repeat the request, say 7 to make sure it went through, later I will get my response over and over. The delay is horrible.Whats going on and any help is appreciated.

I have the same problem with the delay. I did not have this problem before the upgrade.

do you have the sliders to the left or the right? left is faster speech, which means probably less delayi start fsi load the .pln in fsi start rci load the .pln in rci set my optionsi click start rci go to fs, and wait for the rcv4 ready messagei enjoy my flightjd

turn off pre recorded chatter, and let the ai chatter play. if you are running lots of ai, there will be more than enough chatter, and it will be appropriate to the airport and your surroundings, unlike the pre-recorded chatterjd

Well last night I thought I had stumbled apon a fix.Then first flight this morning after takeoff I was told to contact dep.The box then had nothing but random numbers scrolling with a voice repeating numbers.Then I got slammed CTD.In 2 days of getting RC Ive had 3 good flights.Maybe I need to reinstall?BTW. Should 4.1 be displayed on the bottom when I open RC? I now have a 4.1 option but the ver# on the bottom when I open RC is a 4.0..... number.

Jimjam,Can you supply details of your system? Do you have a separate sound card or integrated on the mobo? We would recommend you use a separate sound card otherwise when you play wavs it takes processing cycles away from the CPU.I sugest you also defrag your hard drive regularly. RC needs to locate and retrieve several wavs for each command so if they're all located in one contiguous block that will aid fluid speech.Some times the AdvDisp window may go blank even though RC is running. Try pressing 0 (zero) to bring it back to life. That always works for me.Cheers,

Since I just bought RC and loaded the 4.1, I never tried rc without the patch. I deleted everything and installed only 4.0. 2 med flights with no problems at all.The sys Im running is a AMD 4000,7800GT 512, SB audigy 2 gigs, 32 inch LCD. Also run Raxco perfect disk which defrags the boot/sys files apon start up.Kill all unneccesary BG progs with end it all.Im just going to hold off on reinstalling the patch until the dust settles and see if its causing any problems.

Jimjam,Okay, your system beats mine hands down so you should, in theory, have no problems whatsoever with the 4.01 patch.If you want to avoid the hassle of a deinstall / reinstall the next time you try the patch just zip up your existing installation of RC4 prior to installing it.Cheers,

I was flying from KOSU to KCAK. There were so many problems.1. My FPS dropped by 10 FPS2. The controller and Otto interaction were between 5 to 30 sec delay.3. When taking off after being handed from the tower to departure I handed the flying over to Otto and he did no follow departures last heading or Alt. I had to manually turn the plane and increase the alt. When I finally gave Otton the plane back it was fine. Then the problem started again Otto flew right thru the VOR. The on the Advisp the distance read nine mile and i was past the VOR. Than a sec later it read 1 mile and the plane started to turn. When I was approaching the ILS at a 90 deg, Otto stated your plane and my citation went out of control. The plane went into a steep bank angle and climbed rapidly. After landing I turn off Radar contact and my frame rate went to normal. I flew the 4.0 version and none of this happened till I upgraded the other day and all these problems started. I have defag my hard drive. I have reduced my sound card acceleration. My sliders are to the far left for voices. I have a audiology 2 sound card. I am ready to uninstall and go back to the original Radar contact 4...Please help.

Flew 3 flights today,1 long one. No problems at all so I reloaded Fspassengers. Not a problem.Think I will stick to 4.0 for now. Still want to know exactly what all it adds/changes before I attempt it again.BTW- Except for the problems with 4.1,I am really happy with my purchase!
