  1. Well, both options are interesting, but I've been craving the G73T ever since I saw your preview pics of the G73. lol. This said, I will lean toward option 2 (developing the turboprop and then upgrading both). I have yet to test your suggestion but I will get to it asap. :) Cheers!George
  2. Thank you so much for the advice! I figured that you guys designed the FDE as accurately as possible, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I will definitely give your suggestion a try later on tonight or early tomorrow (I've got so much packing to do it's ridiculous!). I will keep you posted. Cheers!George
  3. I have test-flown the marvelous Mallard and I'm quite impressed with it's panel, it's flying characteristics, water effects, and above all, visual model. I now look forward to the G73T with greater anticipation! However, I had one small gripe about its handling. I use a keyboard to play the game, and I noticed that it does not turn on the ground unless one uses differential brakes (which is fine; I can handle that). But, when in the water, the aircraft barely turns at all, no matter how much rudder or aileron I use. I downloaded the Grumman Albatross from simviation.com, and it turns pretty easily in the water. Will there be an FDE update to correct this? Or is there any advice someone can perhaps share with keyboard users? Any info would be appreciated. (to the designers) Congrats on an overall-fabulous design!George
  4. Well, I dont think you can download an installer per se. However, the installer is included in all the recent PA uploads here at avsim. Simply unzip the .exe file and run it. From there it's a hop, click, and a jump to your new A320! ;)George
  5. There have been a few more repaints of PA's A320 recently uploaded right here at Avsim.com. Among them is Edelweiss, United, US Airways Shuttle, and Iberworld... Hope that helps..George
  6. Hello there, I found the file from flightsim.com the other day and I would be more than happy to send it to you. Just let me know your email address and I'll send it asap. :)George
  7. LOL you beat me to the punch man. ;) I was just remarking to myself today how great the plane is! It's a pity that no US carriers currently operate the 42-500 (although American Eagle operates the 72-500). Did Continental Express ever order some of the -500s? Anyhoo, congrats to Sanchez Castaner and his great plane, and I anxiously await his ATR 72 family to accompany it. Cheers!George
  8. Hey Jason, no worries man. I'm from the Bahamas, and I've been around a little. Maybe when I'm down there again (possibly this winter) we can chat more. My AIM screen name (if you have AIM) is gulfbravo2000. Give me a shout sometime. Cheers!George
  9. Thanx for the info guys! I found the albtrosses over at simviation and they are great! Yes, I definitely meant the Mallard. I saw a link to the website on which it was being developed, but I can't find the post with the link or remember the forum member's screen name. Drat! The Mallard has always been my favourite amphibious seaplane (especially the turbo Mallard). I wish I had my camera out a couple days ago for the landing I saw over at Paradise Island (Chalk's Ocean Airways). Well, perhaps some more info regarding the Mallard will surface sooner or later.George
  10. Hi everyone, I just returned from a trip to the Bahamas for a couple weeks, and before I left, someone was creating a Grumman Mallard. From what I could tell, it looked great and I was eagerly anticipating updates on its progress. I have been out of the loop, though, for 2 weeks, so to the creator of the plane, is there any progress worth mentioning at this point on the model? I would love to see a turbo Mallard in Chalk's Ocean Airways' colours. :)George
  11. I believe I asked the same question once and I think the main reason that Southwest does not operate a regional carrier is because it's not a 'hub and spoke' airline, like the other majors. Many low-cost, low-fare airlines use a different strategy and usually travel between major and minor cities in legs. So, where Delta might fly an ATL-BWI-ATL route, Southwest would fly BWI-PVD-ISP-MCI-ABQ-MDW or something like that. And this pretty much eliminates the need for a regional operator to cover smaller legs. Southwest has made a profit using this strategy and as far as I can tell, I dont think they are planning to change that or make allowances for a regional feeder. Of course, I could be wrong (this is all my opinion). Also, Southwest is trying to operate only two types of aircraft (737-300 and -700). I often wondered why they didnt think of the 737-400 or -800 as others, but I believe someone explained that the capacity helps with their cost-cutting procedures, which is why they want something with only 137 seats - no more or less (hence their retirement of 737-200s and -500s). Again, I'm no expert and perhaps I should have read up on Southwest's history and reasons for their structure, but I hope that answers your questions somewhat.George
  12. LOL Anniette you crack me up! And while I'm at it, I think I will second my request for the Carnival Airlines and Pan Am (1990's) colours. Cheers!George
  13. Well, I know you can find some really good ones over at www.alliedfsgroup.com They were made specifically for the YS-11, but I imagine they sound somewhat the same (and more realistic than the king air or caravan sounds, I'm sure!). Hope that helps!George
  14. Just curious, is there a screenshot to show the progress of Mike Stone's 727? I would love to see it (animations and all). Cheers!George
  15. Well, it looks like a Vansairco DC-9. What repaints were you looking for? I know there are some of that plane (if I am correct) in TWA, Northwest, and some Aeropostal colours. Take a look in the Avsim file library.George
  16. REALLY!!! that's news to me...it can be found here? I'll look for it! Thank you so much! It's a good thing i backed up my original files because now I can replace them and see if the editing program works. :)George
  17. Paco, that -500 looks great!!! Congrats on that...did Continental Express ever operate the ATR 42-500? Also, if you have started work on your ATR 72, can we see some preview shots? Thanx!George
  18. No worries, everyone, I found the file for which i was searching. It was over at simviation.com. :)George
  19. Hello folks, I just discovered (again) this extraordinarily large (136MB) file that replaces the ATC Voice and adds airlines (such as America West, British Airways, Southwest, and Frontier) to the list that is recognized by ATC. Has anyone downloaded and installed this file? I am downloading as I type this (it's 25% done), and I am wondering if it's worth it or if the game will crash when i install it...Please give me some feedback! :)Georgep.s. here's the link to the sounds (near the bottom of the simviation sounds page) if anyone's interested...i'm gonna test it out in a minute :) http://www.simviation.com/fsdsounds.htm
  20. Hello all, I was searching this library some weeks ago for a *huge* file uploaded some time ago which provided additional sounds for ATC (in order for it to recognize more aircraft). However, I have no idea what the file name was or what category it was in, so I don't know what to search for. I checked the "most popular files" section, but nothing turned up. I can only guess that it was removed. If not, where can I find this file?George
  21. WOW! That Mallard look AMAZING!!! I can't wait for her release. I don't think there has ever been a Mallard made for any of the FS versions. I found this particularly disappointing because I am from the Bahamas, which is a hub for Chalk's Ocean Airways. I have been waiting for something like this ever since FS98. Please do keep us updated on the progress of your aircraft. I see you even have it painted in Chalk's Int'l Airlines old old OLD colours! haha. I remember flying on them in the '80s scheme, and seeing them in Pan Am Airbridge colours years later. Great stuff! I am hoping to see many repaints (and maybe if we're lucky, a turboprop update for it *wink wink*). I wish you all the best on your project! Take careGeorge
  22. Thanx very much! Unfortunately, the site is down, but when it comes back, I'd love to see their gmax 727! :)George
  23. wow, those props look excellent!!! I have a curious question though: Is Paco working on an ATR 72 to complement the series?George
  24. Hi everyone, can someone give me a link to Project Aircraft's website? I hear their 727 is nearly finished but in need of animations...I'd love to take a look.George
  25. I'm still sticking to my original request for a Beech 1900C lol. Cheers guys!George
