  1. Hello PMDG! I am so excited that you are modeling a Beech 1900D. I will definitely agree with someone else in saying that the commuter segment of the FS community has been neglected for far too long, and it's such a pleasure to see a change. I took a look at some of your paints already completed for the model, and I noticed two in particular that sparked my interest: The COA Connection (Grand Bahama) scheme and the standard COA Connection (Commutair). My only request (as I am from the Bahamas and see them ALL the time) would be for you to also paint a standard CO Connection for Gulfstream. Looking at the two, the only real difference would be registration numbers (Gulfstream's registrations are not followed by letters) and the titles on the fuselage (they would be identical to the Grand Bahama titles). I will include some links to particular aircraft for reference. Thanks again, PMDG for a marvelous job on a fantastic airplane!Georgehttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/468580/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/499434/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/408322/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/358818/L/
  2. Actually, flightsim's forums are hosted by flightsimnetwork.com, and login is different and much easier. :) George
  3. Sounds great James! How's the model coming along so far?George
  4. I think there is a pretty good panel available from Barry Blaisdell's site (www.flightsimnetwork.com/premaircraft). James, thank you!George
  5. Hey there James, great job on your 1900C so far! The flightsim community is definitely starved of a good GMAX model, and I'm sure yours will be well-received! Speaking of requests, I have a couple, but I can't obtain a picture of one of them (Sky Unlimited - a charter airline in the Bahamas), but the other is Gulfstream Int'l original colours. I'll include a couple links to the aircraft. I hope you'll take it under consideration. Many thanks,Georgehttp://www.airliners.net/open.file/148507/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/144264/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/075840/L/http://www.airliners.net/open.file/014629/L/
  6. Excellent work Paco! I'm still enjoying your ATR 72 immensely, but I'd love to get my hands on your Connie! Keep it up,George
  7. Heya J.C., I'm not sure if the default aircraft for FS2004 visually change pitch, but the excellent freeware ATR 42-500 and -72-500 by Paco Sanchez visually change pitch (and have sounds for each state to boot!). If you don't have these birds in your library, what're you waiting for? lol. Cheers!George
  8. I believe FFX used gmax strobes, which would explain their tendency to flash at imbalanced intervals. Many designers choose gmax strobes to coincide with dynamic flexing wings, so that the lights can flex with them (default FS2002 strobes don't flex). Although the current FFX DC-10 wing doesn't flex, I think (and correct me if I'm wrong) that FFX will be working on a model update which will incorporate them (sometime after the release of FS2004). Hope that clears up your question. :)George
  9. Thanks for the heads-up Mike, I'll give that a shot. :)George
  10. Hey everyone, is it just me, or is there a slight problem with the download link for the PW DC-10 sound package in the file library? For some reason, every time I try to download it, I get an 'action canceled' message after I accept the FFX agreement. Is anyone else having this problem?George
  11. Hey Dan, I'm using the panel by Helio Estrela (which can be found here at avsim. Try it out!George
  12. Well said, Albaro. To everyone in the post, while the intentions may have not have been malicious, I think there is still a point to made here. A point that has been made many times over, in fact. I seriously doubt that IFDG released their model so that it could be compared to the efforts of POSKY. The modellers at POSKY and IFDG have spent countless hours developing quality freeware products to keep us entertained. While both models have their good and not-so-good points, they are still the fruits of someone's labour, and should be respected as such. When someone compares, it gives the impression that they are insulting the hard work of a modeller. Granted, nobody is perfect, and the initial output may be flawed (this goes for all freeware and payware products released). This said, however, we should all be mindful that by speaking negatively about a model, or comparing it to something 'better', we may be offending the modeller of the product. In future, unless the modeller asks for opinions, let's keep the criticism to a minimum, and stop with the comparisons; from what I've seen, they never really come to a decent solution, except maybe a locked topic (hint hint). Just my two cents on the matter :).Regards,George
  13. I think he left out the fact that it only happens at night over KPBI. It happens to just about everyone. Let's hope MS fixed that issue. :)George
  14. Hello there,I don't know if this will work specifically with the PA A320s, but I've noticed something with most FS2002 aircraft that have animated stabilizors instead of trim tabs. If you engage the autopilot too soon, the stabs tend to automatically move to the 'fully down' position (I've experienced this with the MJ 777, FFX 737 series, and the PA A320). To prevent this from happening, what I normally do is set the autothrottle and flight director, and manually adjust the trim during the takeoff roll. Once Vr speed is reached, I switch on the autopilot and alt hold button, and I'm off! Try that and see if it works for you. I dont have a specific trim setting to give you; just try trimming up as you roll down the runway (perhaps 3 or 4 notches if you use the mouse). Good luck.George
  15. Bob, thank you so much! Your info prompted me to check the .cfg file one more time (and really scrutinize every detail) and I found that the included files for the downloads used the Boeing737-400 airfile instead of that of the -300. As my -300 doesn't have the -400's airfile (naturally) the planes didn't show up. I have made the correction and will give it a whirl. Thanks again!George
  16. I recently downloaded two liveries for the FFX 737-300. The first one was Ben Hewitt's Southwest (Canyon) livery, and the second was Danny's Frontier paint. The problem is that every time I try to load either aircraft, i get an "aircraft initialization failure", and the plane never loads. I'm finding this very frustrating, as I followed the instructions exactly, re-installed the textures and editted the .cfg file accordingly, and got the same results. Strangely enough, this doesn't happen with any of the other repaints. Can anyone shed some light on this situation? Or is this happening to anyone else? Thanks for reading.George
  17. Looks good! I've always had a thing for 4-door hatchbacks.George
  18. I was wondering, can anyone tell me which sound file(s) in the FFX/SGA sound package I should place 3 zeros in front of to 'hush' the wind effects outside? I know that's usually the procedure to make a particular sound seem quiet or non-existent, and I love the sound package in general; just not so much the loud wind. If anyone can help my I'd be very grateful (as would my ears! lol)George
  19. Hey everyone, does anyone know if Flightcraft is back on track? Also, does anyone know the status of their upcoming Dash 8-100? I saw some previews for it a while back (late April) in the screenshots forum, but no word since their site went down. Any info is definitely appreciated. Thanks for reading!George
  20. Are there any screenshots available of the upcoming FS2004 version of the ATR?George
  21. Well, for those of us waiting for a great-looking A320 series, CSI is set to release one this saturday ;) (that is, if all goes well). Check out the previews on their forum here at Avsim. It definitely looks like a keeper.George
  22. Thank you so much Dan! I've just now downloaded and installed it. She looks fantastic so far! I can't wait to see what your brush yields next. :) Keep up the great work.George
  23. Yeah, I used to think the same thing. But reading their posts from earlier, they're just a 2-man show, so given that, their perfectionism, and their lives outside FS, they aren't able to turn out quality aircraft as fast as they'd like. After seeing those preview pics though, it looks like Project Airbus has some formiddable competition in the freeware Airbus market! lol. Cheers to CSI for a spectacular job so far. :)George
  24. They've got and A320 series nearing completion (target release this weekend). Check out the screenies and info at the CSI forum (just down the forum list:))George
