  1. Good day everyone,My apologies if this is the incorrect forum to post repaint requests, but I'd really like to see the Beech 1900C painted up in the following livery, if possible:Gulfstream Int'l:http://www.airliners.net/open.file/075840/L/ http://www.airliners.net/open.file/144264/L/ If anyone can, I'd definitely appreciate it! Thanks for reading,George
  2. Could be a tough question to answer - it's kind of like comparing apples to oranges; both are good, but they are not much alike. The same can be said of turboprop and jet fans. Personally, I prefer the ATR (also, I don't own the Feelthere ERJ) - but I also have a bias towards turboprops. I have yet to learn more about the FMS (which, I believe, is common to both models), but the experience has overall been very impressive. I enjoy flying Dreamwings' ERJ once in a while as well, and coupled with Bill Grabowski's panel, it's an excellent freeware package. If you're a big fan of both props and jets, perhaps you should try both packages ;)George
  3. Most SGA Aircraft(if not all) have been uploaded either to Flightsim or Simviation (www.flightsim.com www.simviation.com). You may find some repaints here at Avsim, but to obtain the base packs/sound packs your best bet would be to visit one of the above mentioned sites. Hope that helps,George
  4. True, perhaps I will. Thank you for your input. The Miami (default) scenery is already detailed, however. This was why I was asking about the fps difference. George
  5. Hello all, I recently installed Windows XP on my hard drive, and I've noticed a HUGE improvement on my system's performance (as opposed to that with Windows ME). As a result, I'm feeling a little more brave about what I add onto my computer. I do have a question though: is the scenery for Miami actually better on frames than the default Miami scenery? I had heard that this was the case for FlyTampa's San Fransisco scenery, and I'm quite interested in the Miami scenery. Any info from current users of the product would be appreciated. My system (this may be a factor in your opinions) is a P4 1.5Ghz, 128MB Radeon 9200, 767MB SDRAM. Thanks for reading,George
  6. Well! That's definitely a...umm...surprise for those of us that didn't know you before, but welcome back nonetheless! Dunno why I haven't downloaded that SAA A342 yet, but I think I'll make it my priority once I get home. Cheers!George
  7. Thanks for the suggestion Kurt. I actually just tried that option (after also getting the same advice from a friend of mine). However, after setting the visibility to 2 miles (to see what would happen), I got an awful rendition. Perhaps it's better if I include a picture to illustrate what I mean - still no haze, but a lot of solid gray.Georgehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/94098.jpg
  8. Tried that too, Bert, but unfortunately, the only result I get is sharp textures to a certain point, then blurry textures thereafter - and it seems that the visibility cannot be lowered below 60 miles...George
  9. One other issue I've noticed with FS9 is that I can't seem to get that "haze" effect (whether I'm using realweather or not) that everyone else has seemed to get. I figured that it must have something to do with my weather settings, so I went so far as to max all the weather settings, but to no avail. I still have a very sharp contrasting horizon. Can anyone (that does manage to get this effect) give me some pointers? Does it have anything to do with the terrain?
  10. Kittyhawk is in the process of developing an updated 737-3/4/500 series for FS2004 - their previews can be found at SGA's forums (www.sgair.net/forum). Also, Mike (formerly of SGA) developed some FDE updates for the current Kittyhawk 737NGs for you to enjoy. Check it out! :)George
  11. I am also a recent purchaser of FS9, and I am impressed overall. The only thing that bothered me for a while was the framerates (but i'm hoping the patch will clear all that up). As for the reflective chrome textures, I think it all has something to do with the alpha layers that aircraft painters use - it's up to their discretion whether or not alpha will be used, and how much. The water textures are a bit different as well, but I think it's for the better (more realistic). Depending on the time of day you fly, you shouldn't see too much shine (like in the middle of the day). At dawn, or sunset, however, you should see a dramatic reflection of the sun. Make sure your water setting are either medium or high (under settings/display in FS9). The rudder keys? Well, I don't remember seeing them "visibly" work in flight in FS2002 either, but that's to be expected - to see any noticable rudder deflection with the wind pressure would signal a serious problem in real life lol. Hope this clears any questions up. Cheers!George
  12. Fantastic! It's been a while since I've enjoyed a good Beech 99 (FS98, in fact). She looks pretty complicated though - how will it perform (compared to, say, the PMDG B1900)? Keep up the great work!George
  13. Holy cow!!! That looks great so far! Will this be a freeware or payware project?George
  14. I've been experiencing a problem on my own system with the site in general. I can't seem to access any files that I download. I click on the download button for any file on the server, and once it downloads, it tells me that the file was not found. If I try to extract the file instead, I get a box that tells me that there are no files to extract. It seems as though this problem only exists when downloading from Avsim, as all other sites I've used worked fine. Has anyone else had this same problem? And if so, how can it be fixed? Thanks,George
  15. Thank you for the insight, David. One other thing I should've mentioned is that this issue that my friend is having never occurred before he installed his GF-MCP. This is why we were wondering if the defualt settings of his GF panel were somehow interfering with the autopilot functions of the panel in use. Thanks again guys,George
  16. Well, the aircraft in question (at the time) was the iFDG A320. As far as I know, I don't think that they have a custom-made autopilot. My friend has flown other aircraft in his library using the autopilot (POSKY 757, DC-10) with the same results. Also, the panels on them (at least with the POSKY/IFDG models) are default 777.George
  17. Hello everyone,A friend of mine recently installed the GoFlight GF-MCP Advanced auto pilot system onto his computer for a more realistic autopilot experience. I've had the opportunity to try it out, and it's quite fun! However, we both noted a recurring issue, and I'm wondering if anyone else might know how to fix it.When climbing or descending, the V/S selector will indicate a given rate of climb or descent (on both the system and the panel) and while initially the aircraft holds the V/S, it then loses its value during the climb/descent right after selecting a new altitude. Here's a scenario:I was climing from 2000ft to 13000ft at a rate of 3000ft/min (the aircraft type is irrelevant because this happened on various planes). As the plane approached the altitude selected, the climb rate (naturally) decreased. However, after being vectored to a higher altitude, I reset the V/S to 2200ft/min, but the autopilot kept the climb rate at around 600ft/min, and did not correct itself until I disengaged and re-engaged the autopilot. The same happened in descent, and I had to continue this action through all altitude vectors until I landed. Is this normal? Or is there a setting that my friend should have in order for the autopilot to respond to the GoFlight panel? Sorry if this seems a little confusing (it's a little difficult to explain) but any feedback would definitely be appreciated. Thanks for reading,George
  18. Hey James, good to see you back in the game. Whatever happened to the Beech 1900C you were working on? She looked pretty sweet in her early design period. As for the most needed aircraft, that's pretty hard to say - there are so many that people would be craving. Based on representation though, my picks would be:1. Cessna 402C2. Piper PA-23 Apache/Aztec3. Beech C994. EMB-110 Bandeirante5. Piper PA-31 CheiftainGeorge
  19. A-ha! And the whole time I thought it was my computer being screwy with the Kittyhawk aircraft lol. Thank you for the info there!George
  20. Albaro, you and the team at IFDG have done a spendid job on the A320 series so far. My system leaves a lot to be desired, but I've noticed that the A321's frames are perhaps slightly better (only slighty, but better nonetheless) than those of the A320. Strange, it seems, but true. Maybe my computer has issues, but thank you guys so much for a great aircraft! I eagerly anticipate your A319! Cheers!George
  21. lol Oh Dan, back at it again I see...great job! Keep it up man. I'm still gonna harass you for that ATR tho :( Cheers!George
  22. Thank you both very much for the advice. I will definitely look into it then. As for the RAM upgrade, I'm not sure if my computer is capable of running more than 512MB of RAM. I bought it in 2001 from Dell, and it originally came with 128MB (I had since upgraded to 384). I'll double check on that though. George
  23. Hey everyone,Well here's my dilemma: I have a pentium 4 computer (1.2GHz I think) with 384MB of SDRAM (not DDR SD) and a geforce2 32MB video card. Needless to say, I'm having some issues with frame rates on certain aircraft, and I can only imagine what my perfomance would look like using FS2004, which I plan to buy soon. Before I indulge however, I'd like to upgrade both my RAM (to 512MB) and my video card. I looked around online, and saw the Radeon 128MB card available for a reasonable price, but it uses 128MB of DDR RAM - being that my computer doesn't use DDR in its hard drive, would be possible to use this video card on my computer? The website didn't specify the computer's RAM requirements in it's system requirements section. Sorry for making this post long-winded, but if someone can point me in the right direction I'd be most grateful. Thanks!George
  24. Thank you so much PMDG for a lovely addition to my hangar! Being a potential first-time buyer from your company, I have a question that may have been answered (but I couldn't find any results): Will the liveries previewed on your website (plus any others to be painted) be included in the package? Will they be free add-ons, or will each livery be a separate purchase? Please do fill me in. Congratulations in advance on a job well done!George
  25. Just about perfect Vin! Thank you so much! My only suggestion would be to perhaps lighten the gray by maybe a shade or two, but it's not too important. I'm looking forward to buying this beauty when she's ready. Keep up the great work PMDG!George
