  1. Tuomas, the freeware Fsbus status is well known from the 1st day i started my cockpit based on it. So i cannot expect from Dirk to offer a proffesional support as may software companies do and i cannot ask for new versions with specific improovements. But, as the time saw to all of us, the Fsbus the last 2 years is a stopped project and Dirk for all these reasons you are saying (job, family etc) does not have the time even to reply to emails for support, problems, new features. I don't know if you have another point of view and you are satisfied 100%, or you have a better support, but we don't.No hard feelings, but that's the truth. Opencockpits made many many steps in front, than Fsbus and they are many people there !!Maybe Fsbus could be an open source program, as another solution.best regardsEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  2. Fsbus NG is only the new hardware PCBs and it has the same software to work. Many people went to Opencockpits solution. Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  3. No :-(Last 2 years, only a few things changed in Fsbus :-(Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  4. I don't have Fsbus servo, but maybe you can use CCC if works with servo and use a timer for delay?Eddie
  5. With latest Fsbus version you can have the on/off option for displays. This works fine with the main battery switch and when is off turns off all the displays. This does not works good in individual displays, in example when need to turn off the IAS display in Vnav mode.Dirk, knows the problem but we don't have a reply if and when he will fix it.Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  6. It's a good work !I also noticed that the lever's movement is not so smooth. The A/T is based on FsBus system, so maybe there is the problem. I don't know if it's true but it seems that the A/T moves the 2 levers in different times, maybe because it can not make 2 jobs in the same time (serial approach ?)Anyway it is the first product we see for a throttle replica with servos. The price, based a pricelist i have (has expired 15/10/2005) is 1270 Euro the throttle+85 Euro simple electronic circuit +325 Euro for the servos-----1.680If i had this budget, i'm sure i was going to order it for my Christmas tree !!regardsEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  7. Nico,i understand what you mean and i admire your cockpit, your efforts and your offer. But, you can also undersstand that we already have made a cockpit system (MCP+Dual EFIS+Radios) based on Fsbus project and it is not easy (really not) to change it to another one. All the PCBs, connections and logic is based on FsBus.So you try to find a way to improove the system. Thanks anyway..... !!Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  8. Tuomasyes, this could be a solution, but Dirk managed in previous version to make ths 7-segments to turn-off when battery is off and this works. Also in previous version's readme file says that the display will blank when input is -10000, but htis does not work.I downloaded the last version 2.4.1 hoping that this issue was fixed, but i did not manage to make it work. So, i will be easier to make it within the fsbus s/w than to make a relay, right? Thanks anyway, i was a good idea, in a differnet approach :-)Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  9. As we can see Dirk is working again on Fsbus project last months. This is good for us, we already have our systems based on Fsbus.Btw, i didn't read anything for blank V/S and SPEED windows in MCP. Does anyone, managed to make work them?ThanksEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  10. EXCELLENT work !!!!A big Bravo to you for your cockpit and also for sharing with us this video !!A big Bravo also to Biuro (www.symulatory.com) for his products !!regardsEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  11. Thanks a lot both of you !!!Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  12. I had this question many weeks ago, but now reading another post, i will ask it:Which method is the best for make instruments : servos or steppermotors ? Where else can i use the one or the other?I have some old analog instruments or i could make my own (?), like 737Flaps and Overhead gauges, but i can't understand the difference between these two.thanksEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  13. The prixe is a big problem for many of us.The price in example of 600 dollars for a FMC does not have the same value in US, UK, Germany, Greece, Italy etc.And of course the shipping and taxes are also a big amount.Did you saw the cpflight's solutions?Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  14. Some years ago, there was many topics and posts about Fsbus. These days, i noticed that only a few people answered in the thread with the new version of Fsbus.Do you still use Fsbus, or we are only a few people here? You don't have questions, problems with Fsbus to share with other people?Have you made the new version to work with blank displays? It's very quiet here about Fsbus :-(Please reply about FsBus ......ThanksEddie ArmaosAthensAthens-Greece
  15. Hi,if you don't know, or you don't want to learn how to solder wires and how to work with electronics, mechanical constructions, or you don't have free time, then better go and by something Plug & Play like cpflight's MCP+EFIS+Radios etc.Otherwise have in mind that you have to work a lot and maybe it will be cheaper or not than a ready one, but of course it will be a very interesting hobby !!!I use Fsbus, which has a very very friendly interface software and you can make all the pcbs by yourself, or search the net to order them (like cocpitsonic's site) Look for the New Generation PCBs. The only problem with Fsbus is the poor support and documentation, as there is only one person behind the scenes (Dirk).Other solution is the Opencockpit's IO system, you can buy them ready and tested, in my opinion 100% you have to buy USB card also, they have a more complicated software than Fsbus, but with more more functionallity and better support, as there are many people there. The only problem is that they have many different programs, exe, pdf, docs, manuals etc and you have to make a good research to start understand how it works and what you need. Of course they have release some helpful powerpoint files with how to information, but you need to search a lot. Some problems also with the language, as not all the information/forums/people are in English language.Opencockpits also provide some cards where you can connect the wires from your switches without solder them. Also as i know they are more more cheaper than Phidgets, because with the same money they support more inputs and outputs. Third solution is from Flightdecksolutions, whre you can buy also h/w systems to control the MCP+EFis and in a 2nd phase to expand this.Good luckEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  16. Dash, very nice pictures and an interesting site for many of us.I admire the way you working on mechanical constructions.regards Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  17. PMDG is not a good example and of course not the best solution for cockpit builders, but is one of the best product for standalone FS.PMDG only accepts keyboard commands, is not an open system with the outer world, for inputs and outputs via Fsuipc offsets or with SDK. That you are looking for is a h/w system with rotary switches or rotary encoders as input and to emulate the keyboard, so FS read these keypresses. Fsbus and Opencockpits they already support keyboard emulators.Another approach is the LevelD767, which is the best solution for many home cockpit builders. Even it is a small Fs add-on product it is also give you (via a free SDK kit)a full functionality to control or read the 767. With Niko's s/w and fsuipc you can turn your switches and tunr the 767 and almost all the functions!!Of course the Best and almost PRO solution is the Project Magenta !!!Good luckEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  18. What do you mean?Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  19. Great news with this new FsBus version !!!I downloaded it and made some tests with the new functions. Now Fsbus supports also blank displays. So when battery is off in you FS there is no power to 7-segments or leds in your hardware panels. You must switch on battery first :-) !!Also there is a new fuction to make blank displays for specific 7-segments like VS and SPEED in our MCP panel, or display dashes, or the STD in Airbus.Thank you Dirk for updating, improving and sharing your Fsbus system with us !! Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  20. Unfortunately the final result is that my motherboard does not support simultaneously the onboard and another PCI card :-(Even it was i high-end motherboard when i bought it this is an unacceptable problem.
  21. Hi,this is my custom made FMC, using a Psone 5.5" TFT Monitor, pushbuttons from Conrad, a hacked keyboard and PM's CDU.I got the idea for use these pushbuttons from Nico's site --> http://home.planet.nl/~nwkaan/ (thanks Nico!).I still have too much work to do, the big issue are the LSKeys. The FMC is working now, but i have to do some modifications and add the a plexi panel.I attached some pictures here to see how the FMC looks and how i worked with the Psone TFT.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131500.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131502.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131503.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131504.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/131505.jpgRegards Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  22. Yes !!i like this approach captains!!!Of course in the same logic, i will try to make one step more and complete the image by adding the F/O also in another city viewing also sceneries, move etc, having also his own controls? Right :-beerchugEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  23. Eric,i have installed and now use a Creative Live PCI card and the onboard is disabled :-(When asked Gigabyte's support they replyed with a negative answer in dualr sound card support. Maybe my motherboard or chipset? Maybe i don't know !So that's why i also asked for a second PCI to use there the different ATC s/w (not Fs of course)regardsEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  24. Maybe because many people have 2-3 old joysticks with gameport and in this way can connect them to other pcs and use the axes or buttons ?Maybe because can use to another pc a 2nd yoke and/or pedals for F/O ?Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
  25. In my old P4 1.7 with an ASUS motherboard, i could have both PCI Creative and the onboard sound card.In the current P4 3.0ghz with a Gigabyte m/b when istalling the Creative PCI card it disables the onboard one. So maybe the chipset does not accept both sound cards.I also asked before 2 months to buy a second PCI, for the same reason with you but they told me that none common sound card can work together with another PCI, only when buy something pro (like these they used audio studios etc :-(Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greece
