  1. Good Morning,After fooling around with FSX I'm back to FS9. Being this is a new computer, I just emailed for my key. In the mean time I thought I'd get the latest updates around. I installed from the original 4.0 CD. Could someone point me in the direction of what I need? Thanks in advance,Jim
  2. Thanks Phil, that fixed it up!!!Jim
  3. bjablonka,My P-51 panel is the same. I too have an 8800 GTS. Mine looked like that with the current drivers and the beta drivers. All my other panels are sharp and clear. I'm not really sure what is happening here.Jim
  4. Hope someone answers you. I've been holding off installing AWX and Xgraphics. Just had to do a full reinstall and really don't want to do it again.
  5. :-lol That's hilarious; I'm celebrating my 55th birthday today and you've gotten it off to a very humourous start! Thanks for the laugh,HEY, Happy Birthday! I'm celebrating my 54th today.I needed a good laugh. Now I can tell my wife I'm NOT playing a game when I'm flying the desk. LOL
  6. >As I understand, the inability of 'starting' may be an issue>with some aircraft that have been 'patched' only, and not>re-designed for FSX.>>This seems to be the case for the Orion.>>Hopefully a fully compatible version will be available in the>future. Thanks for the info.
  7. I downloaded the correct version and I also can't get the engines to start. Anybody have any ideas?TIA
  8. I recently purchased ASX and X-Graphics. I can tell you it really made an already enjoyable hobby even more enjoyable. I really like the option to set up the textures to match the current weather. I recommend it to anyone wishing to make their time more enjoyable in FSX. I also recommend you NOT do what I did. I first bought X-Graphics and was so impressed with it that within one day I went back and bought ASX. Buy the bundle and save a couple bucks. It's a winning combination. Jim
  9. >Yes, today FSX runs on DX9 no matter where it runs.>>SP2 will contain the DX9 and the DX10 fixes/features.>>There will be a UI checkbox, and an app restart will be>required after you check it to get into DX10 mode. >>Similarly, unchecking it will require an app restart to get>back into DX9 mode.>>Sorry, no hot-switching.Thank you Phil.Jim
  10. At the risk of sounding like a complete fool, I have a question. I'm running FSX on Vista and assume it's using DX9. When SP2 comes out how will it choose DX10 as the primary code fox FSX, and will there be a DX10 update for Vista? I have other software that requires DX9 and no updates in sight for them.Hope this question makes some kind of sense. Thanks
  11. Hi Janne,Well I just purchased ASX and am downloading now. Jim
  12. Is anyone else not able to download weather from FSX this morning?

Honestly flying from A to B in the real deal can get boring. I was like a kid on steroids when I bought my first plane. Couldn't stand it that I couldn't have it sitting in my parking lot at home. x( But after a while it was like getting in the car to go somewhere. Always fun, but it does wear down. After a year or two of hanger rent, annuals, insurance, and fuel, my flying hours dropped to less than 30 for 6 months. I finally agreed with my wife and cut my warrior free. Once I retire I think I'll try it again though.
  14. When idling in the goose it sounds as though the right engine is at high rpms. All gauges show idling and my throttle on the yoke is controlling both engines properly. To get the idle down I feather the props and run the engines up to full for a few seconds and i hear the sound drop to normal. Everything is OK until I pop out to an outside view then it's back. When it's acting up, and If I go outside, I have the idle sound for both engines, back in the cockpit, its rev city on the right side again. Has any one else ever encountered this and if so how did you correct it?I don't have this problem with any other aircraft. Thanks

You're absolutely right. 25 fps is very fluid. I was surprised when setting FSX up that even the lower 20's seemed as fluid as mid to upper 30's in FS9. For now I've turned off the frame counter. I've found myself fixated to it too much! Almost whacked an Airbus on the ramp watching it to see what it would do at Hartfield. :)
