    Ry,Openf your aircraft.cfg file and search for [Views]eyepoint = 90.0, -2.65, 2.25and change it to [Views]eyepoint = 120, -2.65, 2.25120 is not accurate but it places the viewport forward of the cabin walls. :-wave http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  2. The one that landed on the couch of a family home in New Zealand was, from what i remember, bigger than the average hand of an adult. The one that landed near the HWY wasn't found but according to witnesses it did hit the ground.Off all the shooting stars that i have seen, i've had to look up at them. The one i saw this morning was pretty much at eye level and was extremely bright. Now, if what you say would be true, that the one that i saw burned up at 80,000 ft, taking the earths curviture into account, the meteor whould have had to fallen atleast 100km (thats being really generous) away from me for it to be seen burning up a couple of 100 feet above the rooftops.... It was defiitely way too bright for it to be that far away and burned out way too low, which is why it amazed me.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  3. Hi,This morning (2am) i was(still) doing some work on my computer when i heard a helicopter fly over my house at what appeared to be very low and very fast. I went out onto the balcony with a cup of hot chocolate to take a look at what was going on. I could hear the chopper circling around a few blocks away but couldn't see it (there were no clouds around) until it turned on it's spotlight. I could hear a car being thrashed where the spotlight was and some police sirens down the main road (some one was being very naughty). Anywayz.... the chopper circled around for a few minutes while following the car and then disappeared. I decided to stay out in the balcony to finish off my cup of hot chocolate when (in the same area the helicopter had been not even a minute earlier), a bright light with big red flames came hurdling down out of the sky and disappeared a few hundred feet above the rooftops (obviously it was a large meteorite). Now to the questions...1) It seems strange to me that a helicopter would be flying during the night with no nav lights, beacons or anything else other than a spotlight. Is this typical of Police choppers or did this guy leave in such a rush that he forgot to turn them on ?2) I live roughly at 8NM from YSSY slightly north of RWY07s approach path. If this meteorite had fallen a few hours earlier it could have hit an aircraft on approach to RWY07. Has this ever happened before and how serious do you think it could be ?Reason that i ask is that in the last 2 or 3 weeks a fairly large meteorite fell through the roof of a house in New Zealand and a few days later another fairly large meteorite hit the ground somewhere between Victoria and New South Wales along the Hume HWY... Thanks (sorry for the long post)http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  4. Sorry for not responding any sooner, i've been away for a while, this is just a quick stop before I'm off again tomorrow :-abductBill: Thanx for the code, the tag has given me some new ideas and made things a lot clearer. Now I just have to put all the bits and pieces of xml that I have into one big piece of xml and I should be done :-walksmile Adrian:If I understand correctly, you are talking abut the default c/l/r_tire_still/_blurred tags ? If so, I was originally using those tags, but since I won't be using textures for my tires, I find that having _still and _blurred parts to be a waste of poly's. My model has now dropped roughly 3000 polys using my way, which I can now use on other things (like a good looking pilot :)Don:I had thought of that, and even made the wheel hub rotate while keeping the rubber part (tire) still, but I still had to duplicate the wheel hub which increased the poly count...Thank you all for youre replies, greatly appreciated.I'm off to bed now, I have an 8 1/2hr drive tomorrow morning to Melbourne (from Sydney) with nothing to look at out the window but grass dried out from Australias severe drought. Bill, I should be back by monday, but if you need to get in touch you can e-mail me at diegocoslovich@yahoo.com.auIf any of my replies make no sense....it's because i'm sleeping as i'm typing... sorry :-eekhttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  5. Hi Ray,I don't believe there is a 737-200 model with a vc. But, if you don't mind the default 737-400, I remember someone uploading a panel update for it using all analog gauges (pretty close to that of the 200 series). I can't remember if it was for FS2002 or FS9, either way you should be able to find it in the AVSIM library.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  6. Just thought you might want to see what i have so far....It's still a bit rough and the touchpoints have not been set properly but i think it still looks pretty cool :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/79675.gifIn the gif above the aircraft is traveling roughly around 80-90knts on very bumpy terrain, and i have no idea why the engine is disappearing. :-hmmmI still haven't figured out how to rotate a part, any ideas ? :-zhelpthanx, :-beerchughttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  7. I forgot to mention that i'm also looking at getting rid of the c/l/r_tire_still/blurred animations and making my own. The advantage in doing this would be reducing the poly count and allowing a nice smooth tire shape to be modelled (I don't use textures for the tires). But i can't fugure out how to make something spin!!Would you animate the tire spin in GMAX or is there something in XML like: L_Tire Z axis 360 degrees :(I have the formulas to make the wheel spin back and forth depending on speed so i just need to pass it over to XML.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  8. Hi Roman,Thank you for your suggestions, greatly appreciated. There seems to be quite a few ways to animate tire compression in FS using XML, my main problem right now is getting my head around XML! :-hmmmI was thinking of using the TOTAL WEIGHT and SIM ON GROUND variable and animating the tire compression accordingly... Also (not sure if this would work) but I was thinking of using the INCIDENCE ALPHA variable to be able to detect when the front tire is off the ground?Like i said above, my main problem is XML and it's Reverse Polish Notation way of coding. My mind is pretty much set for Visual Basic, and even HTML confuses me :(If I was to type out the function i would like to use for the animations in Visual Basic code, can some one translate that into XML??thanxhttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  9. Hi Borna,Not all plane models have virtual cockpits (VC). It is up to the modeler to decide if to add a VC or not. and just incase you were wondering... :)It is not possible for yourself (or anyone else) to add a VC to a plane if you do not have the original source file (GMAX or FSDS file).Cheers :)http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  10. sure, I'm almost there, just need to get some xml stuff to work properlyhttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  11. Hello! is it possible to read the gear compression using xml ?The reason that i ask is that i would like to model a tyre as real as possible. Meaning that when an aircraft is taxiing or standing still, the tyre is not perfectly round, giving the impression of having some weight on top.thanx.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  12. Tanks Bill, out of all the times i've been to freeflight design shop i've never noticed the forums i have a lot of reading to do now :)>My thinking is, that if there is any 'flex' at all, it would be so subtle as to be unnoticable. Typically, wingtip excursions are >only going to be noticable on very long, tapered wings. A very long moment arm is required to see much effect... :)oh well.... i guess i'm gonna have to make two models...one without the flex to keep it realistic and a flexing one for myself ( it just looks too good not to include it! :( )Congrats' on an awesome release Bill (and the Eaglesoft team)! and thank you for taking the time to answer my e-mail, it cleared up a few things for me, Thank you.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  13. Hello,Is it possible to model wing-flex in turbulent conditions ? I think i remember seeing the wings of a Posky 747 flex during some turbulence once...not too sure.also if possible, would this be a realistic feature to add to a twin engine GA ?My first and only (really) windy flight in a GA was in a C172, but i was concentrating so hard on the instruments that i barely looked out the window! :-shy I've added a wing-flex using the l/r_gear name with the wings flexed slightly upwards at key frame 100 almost level at 140 and flexed slightly downwards at 200, and gives a very nice effect to the model.thanks, http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  14. geez.... and all this time i've been thinking they were talking bout something else!! I guess you learn something new every day :-roll http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  15. I honestly don't know, but I have read in several aircraft descriptions (specially the posky 747s) which say "tilting bogies". I've always assumed they were talking about what we are talking about here :(http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au

  17. G'Day Bill,I tried almost everything that I could think of (even the three pivot point position options from the drop down menu) but nothing worked until i tried attaching a box to my object like you suggested, and it worked like a charm! :)excellent!!http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au

  19. Jon,Thank you for your quick reply.I have tried aligning the axis to the world, but it doesn't work, the object moves with it too. The object has no animation either. I've just tried to move the pivot only (rotate on the z axis) and not only does the object rotate, but it also gets distorted.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au

  21. Hi,After adding the Mirror Modifier to an object in GMAX it sometimes appears on a 45* angle. This does not always happen when i add the Mirror part, but when it does i find it impossible to re-align the object!I've tried moving the pivot point and align to world, align to object, but it doesn't help. Also, sometimes when i'm adjusting (rotating) an objects pivot point, the object moves along with it (and yes, i have selected "Affect Pivot Only"). Does this happen to any one else ?? or am i accidentaly pressing something that i should be pressing ??Thankshttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
