  1. Hi,I'm texturing the Elevator on my model using LithUnwrap and for some reason a polygon or two has appeared outside the bouds of the texture map which i cannot remove... http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/76982.jpgWill this cause any problems ?? can i just delete it from LithUnwrap ??Thankshttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  2. Then you could add an aileron trim to the panel. I think if you search through your gauges folder you will find several aileron trim gauges. But i would still suggest adjusting the realism settings. FS aircraft are usuallt exagerated in that area. But if you really really want to edit the cfg file... i can't help you there.good luckhttp://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  3. hi,Have you tried reducing the P-factor and Torque in the Realism Settings section ??http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  4. Hi,I think you can attach the ailerons to a dummy object, then attach the dummy object to the folding part of the wing, and then animate the dummy object to get the animation you want.Steps....1. Select the CREATE Tab2. Select HELPERS (the one with a measuring tape icon)3. Select DUMMY from object type and then create the DUMMY inside one of the viewports.4. Adjust the position of the DUMMY at the same position as the PIVOT-POINT of your Aileron.5. Click on SELECT AND LINK on the menu (it's the button to the right of the REDO/UNDO buttons. It has two boxes linked by a red chain)6. Left Click on the Aileron(child object). While maintaining the left mouse pressed, drag the mouse over to the dummy(parent object) and then release the left mouse button (Release only when the mouse pointer icon has changed to the LINK AND SELECT icon). If link was succesful Parent Object will blink one or twice.7. Now repeat STEP 6 again, this time link the dummy object to the folding part of the wing. In this case the dummy is the Child Object and the folding part of the wing is the Parent Object.8. Animate the Dummy. Also don't forget to name the dummy!http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Genera...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  5. Caerddyddflyer,Looks great!!I might be able to help you out with a good quality 3-view picture but it might take me a few days to get it to you. If you interested send me an e-mail and i'll get it to you as soon as i find it.http://homepages.ihug.com.au/public_html/G...a_fl_md_wht.gif http://homepages.ihug.com.au/public_html/G...a_fl_md_wht.gifDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  6. And here I was thinking that was the handbrake! Doh!! :-doh Now that I know that is the flap handle (and by the looks of it, the trim wheel next to it)the handbrake must be the black handle to the left of the throttles. Would you be able to tell me what the grey handle next to the fuel leavers is ??Thanks for your response guys really appreciate it. :-beerchug Diego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  7. Hi,Does anyone know where the flap handle and gauge is located on the Piper Seneca 200 series I ??http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/75349.jpgDiego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/index.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  8. The idea sounds great but from what i have read in several forums making 3D animated gauges would kill the frame rates and increase model size (file size). And, if you were to make the 3d gauges you would have to simply stick to those instruments, not allowing other users to create or modify their own panels...But if all i've said above is complete nonsense then I would absolutely love to see 3d gauges!!Diego CoslovichWebsite: http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~elche/Seneca.htm (under construction)E-mail: elche@ihug.com.au
  9. I thought that was the case... :-doh Thanx Fabio

  11. Hi, I'm animating the landing gear for my Piper Seneca I and have been unable to get the right shape for the brake cable as you can see below...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/71400.gifThe brake cable (when suspension is decompressed)looks sort of like an "E" when it should look more like a "C" shape...Currently the brake cable has been divided into two cylinder objects. I would like to have just 1 cylinder object and use the move and rotate for the animation, something like the following...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/71401.gifI've tried this in FS but it doesn't work. Can FS do the above ?? or am i going to have to just make do with what the two cylinder objects for the cable ??Also...wouldn't it be good if instead of having 3 tyre objects ( still, slow and fast), just have 1 and simply have three textures and let FS animate the rotation speed and direction? just a way to save some polys. :-laugh1 ThanksDiego
  12. Hi Matt,I use the sounds by Bilal Siddiqui. I'm not sure what the original file names are but I'm sure it's under Fs2002 sounds in the AVSim Library (and there are two rather large files). As for the panel i use a panel by Ken Mitchell found under Fs2004 panels in the AVSim Library. (747sp_panel.zip)There might be others but i'm more than happy with this combination!!Diego Coslovichelche@ihug.com.au
  13. hey fredrik,I'm sure i've seen one in my Take Off magazinne collection. If you give me some time to go through them i can locate it, scan it and mail it to you ????
  14. Hey Dan,I'm not too happy with the props either but wasn't really sure if to change them or not. I really appreciate your offer Dan, and i would really appreciate it if you could take some photos for me :-bigangel Cheers Dan :-beerchug Diego Coslovich

  18. Hi, I'm animating the landing gears on my model and have received this message from MakeMDL...ERROR: Scaling null has a translation, ignoring itERROR: found scale matrix without scale animation (r_gear) det=-1.00000 0.988 0.151 -0.019 0.019 0.000 1.000 -0.151 0.989 0.003Error!The r_gear animation goes from 0 to 100. I've mirrored the r_gear from the l_gear along with the wheels, wings and a few other things, then changed it's animation. I deleted the r_gear to see if i had the same problem with the l_gear but it compiled without any errors. I also tried starting the animation from 1 to 100 an 1 to 101 and the error lools like this...ERROR: Scaling null has a translation, ignoring itERROR: found scale matrix without scale animation (r_gear) det=-0.99999 0.988 0.151 -0.019 0.019 0.000 1.000 -0.151 0.989 0.003Error!The difference there being...ERROR: found scale matrix without scale animation (r_gear) det=-0.99999instead of...ERROR: found scale matrix without scale animation (r_gear) det=-1.00000anyone had this problem before and know how to fix it ??Thanx Diego Coslovich (elche)
  19. Avcomware,Thanx for your suggestions. Since i puchased FS9, i've converted to an almost GA fanatic and fly strictly using the VC. I'm definitely going to try and make the VC on this model as readable and sharp as possible while maintaining good FPS. My machine is only a PIII 933 with 512mb RAM and a GForce 2(32mb), so FPS is somewhat a priority for me at the moment.Thanx again for your suggestions. :-beerchug Milton,Thanx for the great advice, i will certainly be taking it on board for my current model and all future models. I now definitely know that my 6,000 poly target was completely unachievable. After only adding 3 tyres, props, and flipping the fuselage, my poly count has crept up to 8,000 and being a perfectionist (:-bang) i'm more than certain that i will reach 30,000+.>Most of all, have fun. :-)Two years ago i wouldn't have be caught dead spending 8+ hours a day, for seven days, on my last week of holidays in front of a computer modelling an aeroplane, literally ripping the hair off my skull, staining my teeth with caffeine and nicotine. And as bad as all that sounds i'm having the time of my life!!! The learning curve has been huge and steep!! and i can honestly say that i can't wait to finish this project and get started on the next one... I'm even considering taking up a Diploma course on 3DSMax next semester!!Also it feels good to finally be able to give something back to the FS community (after having taken almost 10GB of downloads :-hah ).Cheers Milton :-beerchug

  21. Hi che, I'm using 3DS Max to crate aircraft for fs9. All i needed to do was to download Panda Directx Exporter(4.3.0.46) from here http://www.pandasoft.demon.co.uk/directxmax4.htm and place it in the 3DSMax plugin folder. The following site will help you set up the Panda Directx Exporter.http://www.oregon-coast.net/FS2002/3DSM-PandaX-FS.htmelche :-beerchug
  22. Thanks for your help Milton. Adding a few basic textures to test it out did the trick. Only if i had know this earlier :-bang Why are the simple things sometimes so difficult ?!?!Cheers :-beerchug
  23. Thanx for the tip Avcomware :-hah I had already spent several hours going crazy trying to fix the invisible model problem :-shy Off topic question.... I've read all these posts on models with 30000, 40000 even 60000+ polys, so far i have just crossed the 5000 polys mark and don't have really that much more to do (other than the interior). What would be a good poly count for a GA aircraft ?thanx :-beerchug
  24. Thanx for the help n4gix, now i have all the control surfaces completed. >Beautiful workmanship. I can't wait to see her completed! I can't wait either!! I start my course in 2 days so i want to finsh her before we get our last major (HUGE!!!) project in about 2 to 3 weeks. :-hang
