Solved - CCC 3D Settings Problem Running Flight Simulator 2004 with XFX Radeon 6950 Graphics Card
Not yet, but I just switched to over to using "full screen" mode all the time. I'm currently looking for a way to work around the "windowed" mode 3D graphics issue. Mike

Solved - CCC 3D Settings Problem Running Flight Simulator 2004 with XFX Radeon 6950 Graphics Card
Jon, I never had the problem with my ATI 4600 either, but I've tried everything with this ATI 6950 and the jaggies just will not disappear in windows view. :( On the bright side, it is a great card and in full screen mode the images are awesome. Mike

Solved - CCC 3D Settings Problem Running Flight Simulator 2004 with XFX Radeon 6950 Graphics Card
Brian, Yes, I had disabled it in FS9. I just tried full screen mode and all the jaggies disappeared. I've never seen this before on my previous PC's, but apparently the 3D settings in AMD CCC now only work for full screen view in FS9. Live and learn. Thanks for your reply. Mike

Solved - CCC 3D Settings Problem Running Flight Simulator 2004 with XFX Radeon 6950 Graphics Card
I built a new PC using Windows XP Pro as the OS just for working on FS9 projects. For some mysterious reason I can't seem to smooth out the jaggies on the image edges with the XFX Radeon 6950 2GB Double Dissipation graphics card, the latest AMD drivers and the latest AMD Catalyst Control Center (CCC). Everything installs properly and everything but the 3D settings in CCC seem to work fine. I have tried all kinds of combinations of the 3D settings in CCC and nothing seems to have any effect on the jaggies. :( At first blush this seems very similar to the jaggies problem with NVIDIA cards and for which there is a workaround. The difference is that the AMD CCC 3D settings have an "override applications settings" option which I am using. :( Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so have you found an appropriate workaround for it? Mike Edit: I just tried full screen mode and all the jaggies disappeared. I've never seen this before on my previous PC's, but apparently the 3D settings in AMD CCC now only work for full screen view in FS9.

AI traffic on perpetual go-around
Paul,As you have found out, AI flightplanned to perform TNG's per the TTools manual actually will perform IFR missed approaches for as long as you care to watch. Fortunately there is a flightplanning technique to work around this problem and make them perform IFR missed approaches to a specific time and then either land at that airport or fly on to another airport. I have attempted to describe this technique in the thread entitled "Some Observations on Flight Planning Successful AI VFR and IFR TNG's" found at the following link: http://www.fsgateway.com/discuss/index.php?topic=35412.0I hope this helps get your IFR TNG problems sorted out.Mike

10 years of Microsoft Flight Simming for me... How abou...
I also started at the very beginning with the original Bruce Artwick/SubLogic B&W version ported over to the original IBM PC. It is absolutely amazing to reflect back and realize just how far PC flight simulation has progressed. Mike

The AI USAF Thunderbirds Formation Flight Demonstration...
>Hello,>> Please can you kindly let me know if this package could be>installed through the "Ultimate traffic" AI program, if so,>what addtinal steps are required to make it work in "Ultimate>Traffic".>>>Thanking You,>>Best regards,>>>Aftab. This package is compatible with Ultimate Traffic(UT) as I use UT myself and have seen no interference between the two installations. If you are asking if the UT installer can be used to install this package, I honestly don't know, however I would guess not. Sorry.Mike

The AI USAF Thunderbirds Formation Flight Demonstration...
>Hi Mike,>>really really cool stuff - thanks for sharing. It never seizes>to amaze me what can be achieved with the current AI system>with innovative out-of-the-box ideas and some (um, make that>"lots of") trial and error. Great work!>>Cheers, Holger Thanks Holger,"Lots of" trial and error is a bit of an understatement since this "outside-of-the-box" idea was almost too far outside. LOLMike

What 's a 'Touch and Go' ?
In FS9, VFR TNG FP's will result in the AI actually touching down before taking back off for another closed VFR pattern about the airport. However, IFR TNG FP's will result in the AI flying a longer IFR approach, declaring a missed approach before touchdown and then flying another IFR circuit and approach. So if you want actual touchdowns on the runways, always flightplan VFR TNG's. Mike

Finally, an excellent and free voice control program
>I've also have a GA headset. Could you tell me were to look>for an adaptor box for it. ThanksI got mine at PC Aviator Direct, http://www.pcaviator.com/. It's called the AudioPilot Aviation Headset Adapter and all you do is add a battery, plug in your headset leads to the adapter and then plug the adapter's leads into your PC. mwm

N E Military AI Aircraft and Airbase released
Thanks Markus and Fred,It is always nice to read such kind words. A lot of work went into this package by all involved and it kind of kept growing on us as we discovered more and more New England military flying units. We finally had to stop adding them and leave out the smaller ones. Of course that leaves us with the opportunity to create a supplemental package. :)mwm

N E Military AI Aircraft and Airbase released
>This is neat, but I think you'd wind up with more users if>you compile a single installer instead of 4 parts plus other>misc downloads. Great idea though. You should create other>regions too!>>EricThanks Eric,Unfortunately the package got too big to stay as one download, so we had to break it up. One of the problems in doing these repaint packages is meeting all the constraints for use stipulated by the various original aircraft and add-on authors. As you point out, it makes the download and installation somewhat cumbersome, but it is the best we could do under the limitations we had to comply with. :(Our plan now is to first identify and add some, if not all, the Army NG helicopter units and other smaller military units flying out of New England and release a supplemental add-on package to the New England Military AI Aircraft and Airbase Collection. Then we hope to focus on the military flying units in NJ, NY and PA in that order. I already have done the aircraft for a couple of them for my own personal use so I guess I have in a sense already started. :)mwmmwm

I've been using Shoot for sometime for Falcon 4 SP3 and it works very well. The better your mic, the better it works. I'm using Clarke GA headset through an adapter box and it is AWESOME! mwm

New England AI Aircraft and Airbase Collection
Hi Brian,Thanks for your wonderful KBTV scenery. I used it as a base for my own personal KBTV mods for FS2002 and am now using it for FS2004. The P-3C's I did for my New England Military AI Aircraft Collection, now available here at Avsim in three parts along with TG's fourth part containing the New England Military Airbase AFCAD2 and traffic bgl files, are from the VP-26 Tridents out of Brunswick NAS who along with their sister squadrons do seem to love to come down to KBTV and fly practice instrument appoaches. I joked to my wife that they are responsible for keeping Lake Champlain clear of submarines, but I don't think she bought in. :)mwm
