January 8, 200422 yr Peter Wilding has uploaded a file for FS2004 (FS2002 file also available) for a freeware voice control program called Shoot. Available on Avsim today.Peter describes the program as follows:"You will need to download the main "freeware" program from http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/downloads.php which will allow you to make use of this control file for FS2004. It will allow you to; speak to ATC and instead of fighting with the keyboard or yoke/stick so you can fly more like a real pilot and keep your hands on the yoke more of the time. For example a commercial jet pilot calls out to the co-pilot to get the gear up and simply says "gear up". That's just what you will have to do, just like the real thing; the gear will go up when you make the call. When FS2004 ATC controller tells you to reply you can just say "roger" or "hello" or "ATC" or "air traffic" etc, etc, and the ATC window will pop up. Then all you have to do is call out the command instead of pushing buttons that real pilots don't use. Does a real pilot push a button to look out of the window or use a "mouse" to engage the autopilot? Similarly you can call out "autopilot engage" or "autopilot master" or "autopilot disengage" and that's just what happens; the autopilot comes on/off. The best part though is when you try looking around the cockpit. If you want to move your head up you just say "move up" and presto you are higher up in your seat. You can move to the left or Right, back or forward. You can say "zoom in" and that's what happens. You can say "reset zoom" and so on. You can say "next view" and then the view may be outside or another panel. Alternatively, you can say "panel 2" and the radio panel will come up in the 737 so you can tune the radios. If you have FS navigator installed all you have to do is say "navigator" and the map comes up, and then say navigator again and off it goes. Just for once it is easy and possible to make full use of FS2004. Using this program has afforded me the opportunity of making better use of the views available, (and I have CH products yoke so if was never hard) but now it's even easier. All the panels can be activated in this way, and control of the autopilot and control of FS2004. It's probably the best kept secret. I've made a file so we can all share in this freebie of a program. I've included a readme and instructions of how to make the best use of the program. "End of quote.I tried it out. Some large downloads involved if you don't already have them, but it works beautifully. A real gem! John
January 9, 200422 yr Author Hi,Thanks for the find.Awesome Find. A 100% FREEWARE Solution for Voice recognition. I just visited their website and they allow a 52mb Download that includes the Program, The.Net Software, and the Speech recognition Software in one Full Swoop. How Cool Is that.I had Speech recognition years ago on my Word Perfect Suite, by Dragonware, I Think. Time to give it another try.On My way Now...The website also has a profile Library, there is a File there for MSFS2002, but there are a ton for other games as well.here is the link to their profile library.http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/profilelibrary.phpI opened up the Profile for the MSFS2002 file and found Exactly 83 PHRASES in there. January 9, 200422 yr Hi guys, I've downloaded this program, but am having problems with my mic and the speech recognition training......It seems that as I complete one phrase and the training goes to the next "window", my mic volume keeps cutting off(drops to the bottom). When I go into the volume controls and pull it back up and then click "resume" on the training window, it cuts off again. I haven't been able to figure out what's causing this. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance!! I've got Realtek AC97 audio on my comp. Tks guys..Tony P.
January 9, 200422 yr Hi,Its a great program, works like a dream, I did have a problem with it though, it was crashing my system, but it turns out I need to update my soundcard drivers, now it works great. Why spend money on Voicebuddy when you can get this for free?.CheersDan.
January 9, 200422 yr >Mike>Where do you get this adapter box. I own a Clark GA Headset>aswell and would like to try this out...>Thanks>EdEd, I bought it at one of the internet FS supply shops. I'll try to find it and post the URL back here for you later.mwm

I just>visited their website and they allow a 52mb Download that includes >the Program, The.Net Software, and the Speech recognition Software >in one Full Swoop. How Cool Is that.Well, not so cool in that their pipe to the 'net must be pretty small. I started to download, and was getting under 10 kbps. It was going to take over three hours to download. By getting the two bigger files directly from MS, I could take full advantage of my DSL, and got it all in under 10 minutes.Other than that, this does look like an "awesome find." Someone else in this thread said something like "Why pay for Voicebuddy now?" More important, to me, is that this program works with Windows 2000, while Voicebuddy requires XP. That that's cool. :-cool -Basil
January 9, 200422 yr >Mike>Where do you get this adapter box. I own a Clark GA Headset>aswell and would like to try this out...>Thanks>EdEd,I got it at PC Aviator Direct, http://www.pcaviator.com/. It's called the AudioPilot Aviation Headset Adapter and all you do is add a battery, plug in your headset leads to the adapter and then plug the adapter's leads into your PC. :)mwm
January 9, 200422 yr Moderator Hi there, does anyone know how I can determine if I really need the speech recognition engine? I already have the NET framework installed, but I'm not sure about the speech engine.Just wondering since it's a rather large download, yet I'd love to give this one a try.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAthlonXP2000,AbitKX7-333(latest4in1),512MB/2700SDRAM,WinXP,DirectX8.1,Geforce3TI200(128MB)(Det.30.82),SBlive(WDM5.1.2601.0) I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
