  1. I don't believe it but it's true. Have a look at this:http://www.stern.de/computer-technik/techn...26.11.2008&cp=1and thishttp://www.stern.de/video/607582.htmlMick!
  2. >One of my new addons requires that I find all aircraft.cfg>files in my FS9/Aircraft folder that contains a specific line>of text and [...]Hello!I think here http://www.wingrep.com/download.htm you will find exactly what you need. This tool works perfect like the well known Unix Grep.Mick!
  3. >Defragging a drive never hurts, as a fragmented drive can>hurt performance, but it is only a small part in a much bigger>picture of system performance. Okay, agree. But at what scale? Milliseconds, seconds? Let's be honest with ourselves, after installing any tools which promises performance boosts, new smaller textures, and so on, we all 'feel' in the beginning something like: 'Ahhh, this runs smooth now, really fast'.Until we are back in day by day usage and actually nothing really changes :-)>I was getting lousy fs2004 performance, so finally I>reinstalled Windows XP and installed Fs2004 on a dedicated 2nd>drive that is used for nothing else, and my performance is>much improved. My XP system has much less overhead and "junk">running and the sim loads better and runs better, partially>because I have much fewer add-ons installed. Yes, but this is something completely different than defragmentation, isn't it...Why not, like we say in Germany 'Naegel mit Koepfen machen' making nails with heads:Buy a big new hard disk, copy all and everything onto this drive, delete all on the source drive and copy everything back.So the source drive is not fragmented anymore AND you have a backup at the same time.Mick!
  4. Hello everybody!Did someone ever, ever measure seriously and precise the gain of speed after defragmentation of a hard disk. I believe not! I think this is more wishful thinking...My personal opinion is, simply forget it. I make several attempts and I could never ever see any noticeable differences neither with loading files nor within the simulator.Mick!

    >Anyone have the same problem too?Hi!It looks like on my graphic card where one ore more memory chips have been defect. Maybe you consider checking this possibility out...Mick!

  8. >[...]Is this what you are looking for?Thank you anyway. No I was not looking for those strings (I know them). I only want to say that if those strings are not the ones from the english version than ScanAFD is not running.Mick!
  9. Do you have an english version of Fs9?For example I have unfortunately a german one which contains at the top of the scenery.cfg the following lines:[General]Title=FS9-UmweltszenerienDescription=FS9 Scenery DataClean_on_Exit=FALSEIf I wan to run ScanAFD I have to correct the string after 'Title' to the one which is used in the english version, run the program and rename it back before starting Fs9.MicK
  10. Hello!Reading my daily news I found this with some very interesting videos:http://www.spiegel.de/reise/aktuell/0,1518,566396-12,00.htmlMick!
  11. >Let's hope the author will come forward and set the record>straight.I was hoping too. But tell me, am I blind or is it gone from the file base?Mick!
  12. Hi Rob!>Also, scanned for Spyware and viruses after running it ->nothing malicious found on my PC.I don't think you have to worry about this too much. I scanned the V1.bin and the exe file a little bit. They really contain strings which are related to Fs9 ai. V1.bin is full of airport names and ICAO codes and also the strings in the exe file are related to FS stuff. If it should be a virus the programmer must be quiet dumb to make himself so much work which is only seen by people like me who are going into the deep if a program doesn't work like expected :-)- The program fiddles around a lot with the registry (about 728 times, mostly read operations) but is not even looking for the fs path.- It accesses the file system about 1637 times until this silly dialog comes up(also not looking for the fs9 path) and it is looking for several dll files in its root directory which are not there.Anyhow it is very silly to publish a program in this state. I mean this is what programmers should learn at first. Put your work into another environment and start it from there and don't expect environment variables, folder structures etc. like on the system you create a program. And never, never, never use hard coded paths like this one in the exe file "C:Visual StudioVB98"I hope the creativity of this guy is better than his programming skills or at least as half as good as his self-admiration.let's see...Mick!
  13. [...]sorted in categories of your choice[...]That's the magic word. It would be fatastic! You know, I use FsPassengers a lot and have already created a couple of airlines which owns several aircrafts. To find these inbetween my more than five hundred installed aircraft is a pain in the ...Yes I would very much like to have your tool!Mick!

  15. >Happy New Year everyone. And I do mean Happy because after>three years we can now say that 9Dragons - Kai Tak Airport,>Hong Kong has gone GOLD!!Hi Clutch!;-) How can you dare to publish a scenery like that and even for free? ;-)How do all the payware publisher look like now?(irony off)Wow!!!!!!!!!!What can I say? The installation went on perfectly. So I fired up my Fs9 and load one of your demo flights. After takeoff from Sek Kong, sneaking over the hill tops I almost crash the good old Cessna into one of the hills :-) What became visible to my eyes has been simply stunning!I don't have the words to describe my joy flying here and there around in your scenery. I think you and your friends have set a new standard of scenery design. Not that I am too good with prophecies but I dare to say if someone wants to sell a sort of addon located at Hong Kong he simply can bury that project...Thank you very, very much for this jewel!!!I wish one fine day someone will make such an amazing scenery for my hometown Berlin.Mick!
