  1. Stupid question, from the ATI website of course!RegardsRenzo Nicoletti
  2. Hi Ross,Could you recommend where I could get hold of the Catalyst ver 10 driver you refer to for my Radeon 9800 card.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  3. Thanks for the advice. I have tried saving the set-up in windowed mode but when i revert to full screen mode, the panels return to my main monitor and my second monitor is left blank.Yes I have clicked the undockable overhead panel button notwithstanding that it is the throttle and FMC panels that I am trying to move, but to no avail.IU thought the Radeon 9800 was supposed to be a really good card so I am surprised I am having these problems. I don't know if this is a videocard, monitor, Windows XP or PMDG problem.RegardsRenzo
  4. I have just added another monitor to my Radeon 9800 video card but I am having some problems setting up a dual monitor set up with PMDG 737 800 and therefore I have some questions:1. If I undock the overhead in windowed mode and move it to the second monitor, the moment I un-window the computer, the overhead reverts to the primary monitor.2. Is there a way of having FS Nav on the second monitor.3. I have tried to put servoinfo on the second monitor, but as soon as I start FS9, I get an access violation warning and my system freezes.I have searched the multiple monitor queries on the forum and understand that not all my queries realte directly to PMDG but any advice would be appreciated.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  5. Thanks for your informative reply Frank. Very interesting although I am still a little unclear as to the role of the isolation valve. Thanks again.Renzo Nicoletti
  6. Thanks for the comprehensive response and the informative links. I will put my new knowledge to test this evening.RegardsRenzo Nicoletti
  7. I am a bit confused as to what the APU and engine bleeds do and when they should be switched on and switched off in the start up procedure and why. The manuals don't really explain the purpose of things.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  8. Could someone clarify for me where exactly the 'red bar' and 'red dots' should appear.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  9. I didn't realise you could simultaneously receive on Com 1 and Com 2!Thanks for everyone's input. RegardsRenzo Nicoletti
  10. I know what Com1 channel is for, and nav1 and nav2, but when would you use Com2 channel? When I fly vatsim, I presume i am always communicating on VHF Com1.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  11. Thanks Ken. I thought there would be a simple answer!RegardsRenzo Nicoletti
  12. Simple question. Cannot find the key assignments in FS9 and when I try and assign key in PMDG menu, it doesn't work.Any advice would be appreciated.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  13. As a final thought, the CMD A function does seem to switch on and off if you press "A" on the keyboard. Wouldn't that suggest that this function at least is assigned to the letter "A" and that I should easily be able to assign it to my joystick using FS9 assignment page? Not sure how FSUIPC would get around that problem. Perhaps I am missing something. I usually am.CheersRenzo Nicoletti
  14. Thanks for the advice. I will set about the task of registering FSUIPC. I was hoping to avoid spending more money but it is that type of hobby I guess. Thanks again.Renzo Nicoletti
  15. OK, I haven't solved my problem so I need help afterall. I am trying to assign the CMD A autopilot function (as well as LVL CHG etc)to one of my joystick buttons. I use my joystick for lots of other cockpit commands including views, lights, flaps etc. But it doesn't work with any of the autopilot functions.I go into FS9 settings/assignments, see that A is the relevant keyboard command I want to assign to my joystick button 2, so click "change assignment" and press button 2 on the joystick and then ok.But in the cockpit, if I press "A", CMD A will turn on but not if I press button 2 on my joystick. The same problem exits with LVL CHG and V NAV and the other autopilot functions.Any advice would be gratefully received.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  16. Could someone kindly remind me where the keystrokes file is for the PMDG 737 so that I can program my joystick?ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  17. Thanks. The GF166 is a tad expensive here in the UK but I think I will buy one anyway in view of your comments. Thanks again.Renzo Nicoletti
  18. Thanks. Thats what I needed to know. One other thing is that I thought from reading the blurb about the GF166 that you could use it simulataneously for COM and NAV by switching somehow between the appications. Do you know if that is possible? That said, I want it mainly for VATSIM flying now that with SB3, you change comms frequency by manually tuning.CheersRenzo Nicoletti
  19. Simple question. Before I buy GoFlight GF166 Radio Panel, can anyone confirm that they work with PMDG 737 NG. I know some GF modules don't but it is this specfic GoFlight module that I wondered whether anyone had tried.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  20. Thanks for the advice all. The problem did occur last night on landing after disengaging the autopilot and engaging reverse thrust. It was my first VATSIM landing and so I was really disappointed when engine 2 didn't respond to my reverse thrust request and I overshot slightly. The approach had gone really well and I was so relieved to have landed safely, I forgot that you haven't really landed safely until you have stopped.I wanted to tell ATC that the overshoot was caused by a technical failure but I didn't so no doubt he thought it was just down to my newbie status. Thanks again.Renzo Nicoletti
  21. I have been experiencing an intermittent problem whereby I lose throttle input on one of my two PMDG 737-800 engines leaving me with control over only one engine.Has anyone else had this problem and it is a FS2004 or a PMDG problem?ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  22. Looking for a SID for LOWL, Linz in Austria. There is not one at www.navdata.at. Any advice where I might find one would be helpful.ThanksRenzo Nicoletti
  23. Thanks Vulcan. I have printed out your comprehensive reply for future reference.
  24. Thanks for the diagram frankathl although in some respects I am more confused than ever. I have just started flying on Vatsim and this is why I had better start understanding this stuff in case ATC give me an instruction I don't understand. But now, I don't just have SIDS and STARS, butSID/STAR transitionsIAPSVIA'sSo, 1. I have my route planned into FMC2. Weather check/ATIS tells me which runway to takeoff from3. I choose a SID from FMC DEP/ARR page appropriate to the runway which sends me in right direction for the first NAVAID in my flightplan.(or let FSNAV etc choose SID for me)4. Now, where do I get the transition from, FMC? If the FMC doesn't disclose one, do I manually link the end of the SID to the first NAVAID in my flight plan?Perhaps someone knows of a step by step tutorial about this I could use.RegardsRenzo Nicoletti
