My problem is that I don`t really know much about RAM memory modules. When I got my new I7 computer it had 6 GB`s of some DDR3 RAM with, I think, 1066MHz.I decided to replace them with the recommended Mushkin redskin 1600 RAM.Now that I got it back, I see that they didn`t replace the RAM, but just put the new in there too, so I now have 12 GB of different RAM.Now to the question. Is that a good thing? If not, can I myself, with my almost complete absence of knowledge, just remove the old ones, and put the Mushkin RAM in the correct slots?Or do I have to change something in the bios too, to make it work?If anybody have the knowledge to guide me a little, I would really appreciate it. Best regards Jen

need help with "nervously" moving ground textures
Soeren Jensen replied to MindYerBeak's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hi VicI kan rekognize exactly what you described.I looks like the shockwave of a large explosion, moving ahead over the ground. It is not stutters or shimming, since the plane is moving along quite nicely as i happens.I don`t know what causes it, but you are not crazy :( Spec: i7-940 gtx480Jen -
Agree 100 %. That would really be great. But then again, I don`t even know if that is possible. :( Jen

Problem solved :( Looks like there is an issue with Nvidia graphics and Windows, if you live outside U.S. area.If you go to the controlpanel and change the format settings in country and region from Danish to English (USA), viola!!! you have water reflections.Problem is now, that all my business accounts do not show up correctly with that setting.Jen

Maybe I can find the time during the week Red1, so I can try that. Perhaps it could clarify if any of the addon`s were the culprit :( Thanks for the advise :( Jen

Hi JoeThanks for suggestion.I tried to replace that file with both some backups, and some downloaded, but unfortunately no positive result :( It was however a good idea, and I think it might be something like that, thats causing it.Jen Hi DaveI am afraid all the water looks like that, and to tell the thruth, I can`t say whether it happened while installing some addonJen Hi CloudflyerAll the textures are turned up as much as possible, but it dosn`t seem to do much good I am afraid.Jen

Hi NoelIt was something like that I had on my mind:-) I honestly don`t know what IQ a new 280GTX would provide, even if it`s a lot faster than the ATI`s.Some of the hardcore experts in here, have assured me that bad IQ from Nvidia is a thing of the past, and I think I am going to take my chance with the 280GTX.:-) Jensen

Hi Nick NI have been reading your contributions with great interest. And I, like many other`s, are looking forward to read about your conclusions on the new i7 nehalem core, especially as I intend to build one myself. Now to, what I can`t make up my mind about..I have seen that you prefer the 280GTX over the Ati 4870 1GB, or the Ati 4870 X2, as it should simply be faster in FSX.Something that hasn`t be discussed much, is the image quality, or the sense of colours and depth in the picture. And I would very much appriciate if you, or anyone else who has these gpu`s, would perhaps comment on that.Does that 280GTX beside speed, give that same quality picture as the Ati?Does it matter anything, that memory on the 280GTX is DDR3, and on the Ati it is DDR5?And what if a 40" HDTV is intended as screen, would that make any difference?I was especially thinking about the 2GB memory on the ATI 4870 X2. Xgaugewizzard has encountered a problem and needs to close.I can`t find this asx,msi file neitherYesterday I bought and ran "registry mechanics". Dont know it that might have caused the problem. No other programs are causing trouble.Jen

The decisive question: How is is on the frames?jen

Thanks for the quick answer.I am aware of the method of modifying to DXT3 or DXT1. It seems to make, a sometimes considerebly improvement in performence, and at a very low cost, visually. Reducing the texture in size, on the other hand, I don`t know much about. Do you think it`s worth the effort, if I still want some good looking AI planes? Jen

Hej travisCould you let us in on how to merge this panel with the sga planesThat would make a very fine packageKind regardsS. Jensen

Cannon effect for RealAir Simulations' Spitfire
Soeren Jensen replied to Bruce's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Hey RobFunny and clever little thing you have created here. It sure make`s it a little bit more fun to "cruise" around in your warbirds.Best part is, that it work`s with all the other planes of war, but it`s gone be some work to get it added to them all.Thank`s a lot for this little gemJanson
