  1. At Avsim you can get the improved release of my checklist for the great Piper Cheyenne IIXL from Digital Aviation - including the helpful suggestions of J
  2. ...For example, "now you are ready to take off! Raise the landing gear! The landing gear is up now! Check your airspeed! Now you're climbing! Ok, now you are ready to engage the autopilot! Check your altimeter now!"... I understand what you mean - but I have no problems with this way of describtion. It makes the text livelier and it's not as dry as a manual. I like it.
  3. Hi Ted,they are both lbs, the difference is only between "." and ","...
  4. Hi Graham, thanks for your advice! I tried it and it works fine. Therefore here three pictures showing the steps.
  5. Hi Roger,I would like to explain it to you. But I'm so sorry, it is not so easy and my enlish isn't good enough for that.I hope that somebody who knows what to do is additionally able to describe it...
  6. I'll try to explain with three pictures, showing the three steps and I hope that they speak for themself... without a detail within the FSUIPC. There, if you press the button of your CH-Yoke, e.g. button number 4, in FSUIPC the button numbers are not the same. There it is number 3 because it is the third that I have programmed in FSUIPC...
  7. The most important I forgot to say: I'm very happy that I will get the opportunity to learn to fly the great Queen with this and the upcoming lessons. Thank you very much.
  8. Rob, thank you for your answer. I've made some tests with a surprising result. You are right, if the aircraft is in EDDH for example. There I can see a correct behaviour according to the aircraft/wind angel. Even when the wind comes directly from behind the rudder is straight and when the wind is going a few degrees to the left or to the right the rudder also changes slightly in the opposite direction. And if there are gusts it waggels a little, but keeps the correct direction. For me it seems to be a very realistic behavior. That's in EDDH or in any other airport - not so in KBFI. The picture shows the wind coming from 220 degrees with 8 kts. That's the right angle from the left and the rudder should turn to the right. It's not an important thing, I know that. But what's the reason? Is there something with the start situation, or with the hydraulic? I've seen that we have a strong magnetic deviation of 20 degrees there. May that have influence?Sorry for writing so much. I have to gain experience in that...
  9. Thank you Ted,but when you change the wind direction, the rudder will also change like a flag. Even if the wind velocity is only 6 kt for example.
  10. I'm confused about this detail:As you can see in the picture the aircraft axis is 310/130 degrees magnetic. The wind is blowing from 130 degrees. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147211.jpgBut when you look to the external picture the rudder turns to the left. Shouldn't it be straight? http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147212.jpgWhat is the reason? Be so kind and explane it to me.Thank you.
  11. Now, with all your kind help, I made some tests and found my settings for a smooth horizon, an almost realistic sky and faster FPS. In case somebody is interested to know these settings I made a few images for you. Thanks again for your help.
  12. Hi Stefan,I don't know exactly. So I'll try it again. Normaly I should get the same results as you - I hope so...
  13. Hi Stefan,I also tried that. But with numbers higher than 30 I got the sharp horizon, even with "smooth horizons"...
  14. Hi!@Stefan, yes 29 nm and it looks better than without smooth horizon, but @Evagelos, you are right, it doesn't look like FL240 - there is still too much haze. But how to get a more realistic result???
  15. Hi Stefan, that was a very good recommandation. Now I use "Smooth Horizon 1" and it looks much better. The picture shows it at FL240. I also tried Horizon 2 but couldn't see a difference. Thanks again and moin, moin!
  16. Hi Jim,excuse me many times. YOU ARE RIGHT!!!In two cases the safed flights were showing a "CLEAR" weather situation instead of the safed weather. Now I tried again - and now the safed flight kept the safed weather... I don't know, why I got the "Clear" weather for two times and now not. Doesn't matter: excuse me. I didn't want to bother you. Something went wrong here and I don't know what...
  17. Hi Jim,very sorry, but that wasn't my question. My question: Why does AS6 delete automatically a safed FS9 weather situation when it starts? Please understand, I like to keep this weather that I have saved with the FS9 weather engine. I don't want to get it deleted, or changed into a "clear" weather by AS6. So, what can I do to inhibit AS6 to do this automatically against my wishes?Just to illustrate see the message of the picture. Thank you.
  18. Hi! (Moin, Moin...)yes that's a good idea. I will make some experiments with the soft horizon themes. May be I'll get better results than this thick haze...Let's see.
  19. Hi Jim,may be it wasn't clear what I told, so I try to explain again. In this situation, I would like to discribe now, I don't use AS6. I only use the weather engine of FS9. I download the actual world wide weather. Safe the flight including this weather. Later when I load this flight again, I also get this safed world wide weather. Unless I use between AS6. Then, during AS6 loades, I get an accordingly message and automatically AS6 deletes this safed weather - of a flight, that I wasn't intend to load... Why? I don't want that that happens. What can I do to avoid this?
  20. I've downloaded the weather with FS9 to keep it after safing the flight. Then, when I later loaded AS6 I got a message that AS6 will change my safed weather situation. I could only press OK - and my safed special weather was deleted... How can I avoid this?
  21. I also tried this but without success. The horizon still is a sharp line. Nevertheless, many thanks. Now I hope that the guys from AS will find a way to create a realistic look. Over the time they have managed to make such a great program, why not that?!
  22. 1. When looking out of the cockpit, there is no window to the left, no officers seat to the right (2D panel). Only after choosing the PMDG General/Model/Virtual Cockpit menue again (still enabled) it will come up. 2. The estimated time for reaching the Top of Climb counts backward the closer it comes. At the end it is a time before the actual time. (see the picture)3. The offset flight leads at first to a big circle and overshoots. (see the picture)Except for these minor defects for me the new 747 is the most perfect simulation. And may be this perfection causes the critical look, remarking also trifles...
  23. Hi Jim!Now I understand. Before I thought that it will be possible to get a real looking horizon. But if not, it's ok. More important is to have the winds aloft for planning the flight and the almost real simulation of the weather.Thank you again for your help!
  24. Hi Jim!Sorry, but using a limitation higher than thirty leads allways to a sharp horizon. Do you get a soft one using fifty? I wouldn't understand that. I have a NVIDIA card with one of the newest driver, all programs quite recently new installed - so I don't know, why we should have different results. What else are your settings to get a soft horizon with a limitation of fifty?
