  1. Stan, The links on the runway need to be the black runway taxi links, but you need normal taxi links from the hold short node to the normal node on the runway. Also in fs2004 the AI planes will make the turn at the end of the runway and recenter themselves, so you don't need that either. I seems as though everything is how it is supposed to be. Being that this is a modified AFCAD you could go look at the original one for that airport to see how it was set up, just to see if you can see any diffences. Hopefully someone with more experince will come along and give you the answer you are looking for. Sorry that I could not be of more help to you.Glenn
  2. Stan, I thought of something else. Are the planes all the same type? The reason I ask is that when I was using fs 2002 I had an airbus 320 that would do the same thing at toronto. All of my other planes would takeoff just fine but when it was there turn it would just sit there, until it disapeared. Then the planes would takeoff again like normal until one of those planes showed up again and the same thing would happen. Do your planes even call for takeoff clearance? I know that mine did not. So I changed the air file and it seemed to work. I do not know what one has to do with the other. I am no expert with any of these files, but I have been doing my own AI since fs 2002. One other thing to check in the AFCAD file would be that the hold short point is conected to the runway. Hope you figure it out, I know it can be very frustrating working with all these files but very rewarding when it all works right.Glenn
  3. Stan, One question to ask is, did the scenery come with a new AFCAD for the airport? If it did, you might want to check it and make sure that the hold short points are in the correct spot. I had a simular problem with one and after checking it, it had no hold short point for the runway, which I guess caused the planes to wait and then disapear. This was some time ago, so I can not remember if the planes held short of the runway or if they taxied onto the runway and then just sat there. But I do think that the problem is most likly the AFCAD and not the flight plans. Also I noticed that sometimes using the fualt finder in the program does not always find a problem, so make sure you check everything. Anyway good luck I hope this helps.Glenn
  4. DennisYou can find the winter 2005 us air express over at fsalliance.netJust look under the file library.Hope this helpsGlenn
  5. Scott, Thanks for the reply. I guess because I am not that adventuress, I could never get up enough nerve to jump from a plane and just fall towards the earth. That is why I had the reaction I did when I heard that she was going to jump again, especially since she will have a young child when she does it. Glenn
  6. I heard this morning on the news that she is planning on taking her next jump in August of 06, I guess after she has her baby. To me that is pretty brave. I don't think I would be able to do it, but then agian I have never skydived before, so I don't know what the rush is like.So scott, since you have done this before, would you be able to jump again?Just wondering.Glenn
  7. Kirk, Just another point of view. Since you can open a flight plan once you are in the air, you could just go to the airport. Then taxi to the runway you want, after listing to the ATIS to find out wind direction. Then take off, and then open your IFR flight plan. I know that this is not as real as contacting the clearance delivery, ground, and tower, but it would allow you the runway of your choice. It is just a thought. It is your world and you can do what you want in it.Glenn
  8. Hey Mike, I thought that is the way it was, but with further looking I noticed that the model and fde are in there own files for the newer aircraft. The older ones like the DC-9s and the older 737's they are included with the paint kits. But the newer ones have a base package. The older models also have updated fde's so they work better in fs9. Now I know why you asked, it is a little confussing. Basicly, once you select the aircraft you want, you click on the repaint button to the right side of the screen. On that page the files you want will be in red and be the first ones listed. Some of the models will be in the paint kits and some will not be. I hope I have not confussed you any further. GlennCame back to add something. I think for the DC9 10/30/40/50, 737-200/300/400/500, 757-200/300, and emb 120 you will just need the file aiafs9up.zipLike I said I hope have have helped and not made things worse.
  9. If you go to the site and click on the aircraft and repaint section it will show you all the aircraft that they have. Then select the one you want and click on the repaint button. The first file in red will be the paint kit which is the base package. Then just select either avsim or flightsim to go to that site and download the file. Or you could do a search here in the library for aardvark paint kit, and that should bring up all the base packages.Hope this helpsGlenn
  10. Hey JC, Andrew makes a good point in that it would be nice to see the flight plan for the plane in question. I am not familiar with UT, I do all manual installs of my AI. The problem with AI planes is that they will always sit at the gate until there departure time, whether that is a day or a week. It is not moved out of the way as in real life. However, there could be a work around by editing your flight planes a little. Lets say you want the plane only to fly Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Once the plane makes its last arrival for the day it will sit at the gate. What you would do is add a flight for Tuesday sometime early am, (e.g. 2:00am), and have it fly to somewhere you don't. Or maybe even make up and airport to add to the airport txt. file. That way if you fly on Tuesday the plane is not there. Also you would add a flight back from were it is to your airport sometime Wed. am, so that it is ready for its Wednesday departure. By doing it early in the morning, you would never see it leave, unless you fly at those times.Example flight plan. The plane leaves bar harbor at 2:00am on Tuesday morning for weber jones airport ME03 and comes back 2:25am Wednesday morning ready for its flight to Boston Wednesday at 7:00am. Flight times in the plan are GMT times, so 7 hours different than Eastern Standard Time.AC#9324,N119CJ,1%,WEEK,IFR,1/00:50,@1/01:58,190,F,5955,KBHB,1/07:00,@1/07:35,60,F,5955,ME03,3/07:00,@3/7:35,60,F,5955,KBHB,3/12:00,@3/13:10,180,F,5952,KBOS,1/13:45,3/14:53,190,F,5953,KBHB,3/17:00,@3/18:10,180,F,5954,KBOS ect............Hope this helps, I am sure, someone else will respond with maybe an easier way to do this, but this is the only way I know how, so I thought I would share it with you.Glenn
  11. Not sure if you have this plane up and running yet, but I noticed you said that you changed the file names of the .air and .mdl. I went in and changed the cfg files on both to match the file names that were already there. This worked for me and was able to fly the plane. Not sure what the kneeboard error is all about. Glenn
  12. Not sure if either of these are the ones you are looking for but they are at flightsim.coma319_fab.zipif319cjf.zipGlenn
  13. Barry, I am not an expert with afcad by any means, but I do have a couple of thoughts. Now I have not used afcad2 much because I just got fs2004. But looking at the picture above, wouldn't you need to have some hold short points? Also I don't see any start locations, so shouldn't they be added as well? So I would think that Eric is right. You probably can't tie the parking right into a runway. Also have you run the fault finder under the tools section? Just some thoughts. Good luckGlenn
  14. Joost Here is AI aarvark's web site, just go to the ai aircraft and repaints section and find the plane you want. Then click on the link that says paintkit. http://www.ai-aardvark.com/Glenn
  15. I am not sure if this afcad will work with the above scenery or not but I could not find a dennis wagster scenery only the dennis waggoner one.http://fly-heather.avsim.net/usa_California.htmlThis file is about 3/4 the way down the page. It is by Dave O'Brien.edwards_afb_ai.zip Glenn
  16. Jim, Here is a link over to PAI website, with directions on how to do what you want. At least this is what I believe you are looking for. I have never done this before. All I do is put all my AI planes in too the same folder, ect. ui-manufacturer would all be AI Traffic. That way I don't have to scroll through them when selecting a plane, but I can still see them to make sure they all work. Here is the link, just scroll down the screen. Should be the 4th on down.http://www.flightsimmer.com/forums/faq.php...ll&titlesonly=0Hope this helpsGlenn
  17. First, Thanks to everyone who has responded to my questions.I went out yesterday and bought it. Checked it out a little last night, it looks great, and runs great. Wish I had gotten it a year or two ago. But I was waiting for fs10.Mike, thank you for the idea of adding ver. 9.1 right away. I also made a copy of my modules folder, hopefully I will never need it.Mike T., thank you for the reponse about the AI. I was afraid that is what the answer was going to be. I guess I will look around the forums and on other sites to learn the process all over again. Thanks agian to everyone.Glenn
  18. One other quick question to ask about AI traffic. Am I right in thinking that there is AI Traffic at small non-tower fields? Or is it still like fs2002 where it has to have a tower and ground control? Also are there more airports that have default traffic at them then before in fs2002?Also I just use around 35% on traffic settings on fs2002 so the lower setting won't bother me a bit. Thanks agian for all the helpGlenn
  19. Hey Ian, Thanks for the reply. I think I am going to head out today and buy fs9. With my luck (the way it happened when I bought fs8) fs10 would probrably be annouced sometime soon. lol That would be good news for the rest of you. Thanks agian for all the helpGlenn
  20. Thanks guys for your replys. The computer I have is a pentoum 4 2.8 ghz, ATI AIW 9600 128 mb, 512 mb ram, and running windows xp with service pack 2. I don't have any problems with fs 2002, the lowest I have the seen is around 12 fps with everything turned on and some high density AI traffic and senery. Is this enough to get the most out of FS9?Thanks againGlenn
  21. Hello Everyone, This is my first post and I am already asking for your opions. lol I guess that is the way it always happens. I had fs 98 and then bought fs 2002 (never had fs2000), but I got it a month before fs 2004 was anounced to be released in June of 2003 (or there abouts) So now that I have had fs 2002 for almost 3 years I want a new simulator. I have been waiting for the new fs 2006 (fs10) to come out. I have looked all over this board and from what I have read is that no one knows when it will come out. So my question is, should I sit and wait for who knows how long, or should I buy fs 2004 and hope that I can use it for at least a year or more before the new one comes out? Is there enough things different to make the purchase worth while? I know that it is only $30 but I don't get to buy software that much during the year so I would like to make the right choice this time around, I don't want to go out tomorrow and buy fs2004 and then have them say fs 2006 is coming out in dec. Also I have done quite alot of work myself on AI trafic, can I use the same files in 04 or do I need to start over? and how hard will it be to change the AI planes over to fs 2004? And one last question is do most panels for fs2002 work in 04?Thank you in advance and sorry for all the questions.Glenn
