  1. I guess there is no need to give lessons to everyone here. I was amonst those wishing to get those values (and made such a request in another post) simply because they are not clearly mentioned in the flight manual. The fact that PMDG used the Max values for each variant is not obvious if it is not written. I guess if so many people are asking, it's just that it's not really clear and could have been mentioned in the intro pdf at least. But someone was kind enough summarizing this in a single post, and I thank him !
  2. Thanks great !I had been looking for such a synthesis for quite some time now !
  3. And I completely forgot, but thanks a lot Berni, great vids, very interesting !
  4. Thanks guys !Very interesting posts. I think i'll give a try with your values, Victor. Your explanations seem quite logical indeed. But I still think that PMDG should make it a bit clearer. I don't think this fact is mentioned in the doc, but it's very interesting. I'm definitely not the only one with questions about this, I just saw someone askingthe same question 24hrs after me !So that could be great if PMDG could come up with a synthetic document. Anyway, thank you very much for your input !
  5. Hi everyone,First of all, let me be clear, the NGX is by far the best airliner addon I've ever seen for FSX.That being said, there is one major flaw, I think, is that it's really hard to find the BASIC DATA for those aircraft.I think that if you want to really enjoy an airliner of such complexity, you have to plan your flight carefully. It's been said several times on those forum that TOPCAT was recommended for perf calculations. Here comes my request to PMDG or anyone else who could help.Would it be possible to get a synthetic document or post in the forum summarizing the weight values you used for the NGX ?What I'd like is basically the values needed to configure a TOPCAT profile, and I can't find it anywhere for certain.(MTW,MTOW,DOW,MLW,MZFW,Max Payload and so on).Let me give an example:For the B737-800, in the FCOM, the Max Taxi Weight is given on page 55 as 70760kg.In the FMS, when I go to FS ACTIONS, PAYLOAD, it gives me 79200 kg. Not the same thing...I was able to find a post made by Dr VAOS ( ;) ) I think giving a link to that document:http://www.boeing.com/commercial/airports/acaps/737sec2.pdf, which on page 13, is giving 3 other values !I'm having a headache !I know those values differ according to the customer options and so on.What i'd like to know is what values PMDG used for the NGX.It's a pity because otherwise, the documentation is very comprehensive, it just lacks the basic.Regards to all and especially to the PMDG team who did a hell of a job.
  6. Regarding the transponder you are indeed correct. What you learned is the procedure for small airfields and GA aircraft. I work at LFPG as an ATC and the standard procedure is that crews switch on their transponder before taxi so that our ground radar can track them using mode S for identificaton. On small airfield not equipped with ground radar and where you have small GA planes often not equipped with mode S transponders, if you switch on your transponder before entering the runway, first it's useless, and the aircraft can sometimes appear on the air radar even if it it not supposed to, so it can clutter the image a bit. Hopes that helps !
  7. Apparently, it is confirmed as a bug and should be corrected in the next update. Thanks for your help guys.Charles MOULINLFPG ATC
  8. Thanks for your answers guys !In that case, I think that's a bug then. I submitted a ticket to PMDG support. I'll keep you posted !Charles MOULINLFPG ATC
  9. And i'm not trying to launch an engineering debate here. Either the placard is correct or not. I agree with Cory. If Boeing put ir in the manual, there might be a reason...So all I want to know is if other people see the wrong placard as I do or if it is related to a bas install on my part. Charles MOULINLFPG ATC
  10. And I might add that the speeds seem to be correct on the Pfd. If you drop flaps 40 on the 737-600 for example, the Red tape will start at 155 and not 162. So it's just the placard that seems to be wrong. Charles MOULINLFPG ATC
  11. Any help would be appreciated. All you have to do is launch a flight with a 600 or 700 and tell me what speed is written on the placard below the gear handle for Flaps 40.It is supposed to be written 155 on the 600, 156 on the 700 and 162 on the 800/900. (FCOM VOL 2 page 23/24/25).On mine, it is always written 162 on all the variants. (And the others speeds are also incorrect of course).Could any one check that and just tell me what you see, at least, I'll know if I'm the only one !Charles MOULINLFPG ATC
  12. Hi everyone !First of all, I just want to use this post to thank PMDG for this wonderful addon that has really set new standards of quality !!Here is my point.I have the NGX installed with SP1 and the 600/700 expansion. I did a fresh reinstall after the SP1 release. My problem is that in the 600 or 700 variant, the Flaps Limit Speed placarded below the gear handle are those of the 800/900 variant. I'm sure the VC is not an alias of some sort because I can see on the overhead the specific air conditioning panel of those variants.Just wanted to know if someone has this issue too, or if I did something wrong during my re install.Best regards to all.Charles MOULINLFPG ATC
  13. Merry Christmas from Paris !!Can't wait your future releases !All the best.Charles MOULIN
  14. Hi Bruce,You're right, their european hub is at CDG.Compared with our total traffic, it does not account for a huge amount. The difficult part with FedEX traffic is that they all come at night, and as you said in a hub.During daytime, there are only a few FedEX flight coming in or out of CDG.They arrive between 2300 and 0030 local time. And they leave at around 0400. During a good night, there can be more than 30 flights in the hub.The difficulty is that first, we have strict environmental procedures in CDG, especially at night, and that the aircraft types are not really easy to mix:the feeders have old ATR42,BAe ATP,Embraer Brasilias... that you have to mix with MD11,A300, and A310...On final, the MD11 sometimes has more than 160IAS, whereas prop aircraft can go down to around a 100IAS, so you have to be cautious. And when they depart, those same prop climb at around 170IAS, when some of the MD11 go for example in Germany...which means their performance is round those of an F16 !Hope that answers your question!Charles
  15. Hi allI'm an ATC at LFPG, and a huge fan of PMDG !Can't wait for the 737...Charles
  16. Well, thanks again, I was able to do just that !I have cameras that perfectly suit my needs thanks to you.Now let's hope there will be a keyboard mapping tool and a failure module!Charles
  17. Thanks a lot for your VERY fast answer !I'll have a look at those right now!Charles
  18. Hi everyone !First, I'd like to thank once again the whole pmdg team for providing us with such high quality aircraft! (I simply can't wait he 737 ;))Here comes my question: I'm using a track IR and I programmed a button on my joystick to recenter it. But I'm not very happy with the default views provided with the JS41. I would like to change their order, and change some of the points of views themselves.I'd like to know if this is possible and how. If some one could give me a hint, that would be great !Best regards to all.Charles MOULINLFPG ATCPS:PLEASE GIVE US THE ABILITY TO MAP KEYS !!!! I'm lost with my cougar, and the fact that this add-on is VC only makes it even more necessary to be able tio map AP knobs and buttons.
  19. You're welcome !If you have some questions, no problem, but the answers will most likely be for tomorrow, I'll be going to bed shortly (it's midnight in Paris )!That should give you some time to absorb ;)Charles
  20. Actually, yes, some are, in a way.More than a Jet/Propeller separation, most departures are resticted to aircraft requesting higher than FL195/115 for cruise. But the departure is the same wether it is a jet or a propeller. What will change is the initial flight level (higher for jets , of course). For aircraft requesting lower than FL195, a certain departure must be followed, or radar vectors, depending on the departure.Below Fl115, the departure must be compliant for non RNAV aircraft. We have 4 general directions for departures: North, West, South, East. I'll try to summarize each of them to tell you what you can delete.North departures: -RFL(Requested Flight Level)>115 : 3 Rnav departures (Opale,Atrex,Nurmo) -RFL<115: initial departure(basically, on runway centerline using PGS or CGN VOR's), then Vectors to MTDWest departures: -RFL>115 : 2Rnav departures (EVX,LGL) -RFL<115 : same thing ! Those departures are also conventionalSouth departures:-RFL>195 : 5Rnav departures (Agopa, Erixu,Latra,Okasi, Pilul) (the 1Y deps are for low performance jets facing west for environmental reasons) -RFL<195 AND ALL PROPELLERS (this is an exception, we like being complicated in France !!): 3 conventional departures (DORDI,MONOT,PTV)East Departures:-RFL>195: 3 Rnav Departures (Ranux,Lanvi,Bubli) -115<RFl<195: 2RNAV departures: (Dikol,Baxir) -RFL<115 : basically, initial departures then radar vectors to NIPOR or ALIMOThe other published departures are OL,BVS and are just for Orly or Beauvais airport, so you won't probably use them !I hope I did not forget too many things...Charles
  21. Well, we actually have some radar departures. One big reason why we don't use it a lot is environmental contrainsts. Basically, we cannot turn aircraft out of the SID before FL60 or approx 6Nm out in the departure (except for safety reasons of course).Another reason is that we make independent parallel departures between north and south runways: their axis are separated by less then 3Nm (our radar spacing), so the SID are designed to strategically separate the trajectories after 10Nm out. But this is becoming a bit technical here...And the reasons mentioned in the previous post also!Charles
  22. Hi everyone !First, I'm glad I have an answer to my problem because I had the same issue on FS9 MD11 at CDG.Regarding the number of procedures at LFPG, maybe I can shed a light on it...I happen to work as an ATC in real lifeat CDG !! ;)And I must say that it's true we have a lot of them and they are really complex. As you were able to guess, a big part of that complexity comes from the fact that we have Le Bourget and Orly very close to CDG. And by the way, we (at CDG) provide approach control for Le Bourget. And why so many letter ? Each group of letters is for a given configuration. We are either facing West or facing East. LFPG and LFPB configuration are linked. But Orly is obviously independent. So the 1A/B/C means LFPG/LFPB and LFPO facing West 1D/E/F means LFPG/LFPB facing West, LFPO facing East 1G/H/J means LFPG/LFPB and LFPO facing East 1K/L/M means LFPG/LFPB facing East, LFPO facing WestThere is a reason why there are no 1I departures, but I can't remember it right now ;)In each triplet of letters, the first one means departure from the north runway, the second one from the south runway, and the third one from Le Bourget.Historically, there were a lot of differences between the "linked" configuration (A,B,C,G,H,J) and the "invert"(the others !) configuration so we kept that designation. Fortunately, there are not many differences any more, except for some initial climb Flight Level, and some low altitude trajectories.I hope that itcould help you understand things a bit better.Don't hesitate to ask if you have some questions.Best regards.Charles
  23. Great to hear some news ! (especially when they are good !)Just a little question : Do you think you will release an update some day to your 747 using the same programming techniques that you used on the MD11 ?To be clearer, I stayed on FS9 because your 747 was almost impossible to fly on my PC under FSX and it is not a very old PC (Q6600,4Gb,GeForce8800 GTX 768Mb,2 320Gb RAID0). (Another great thing on FS9 being AES...)So it was a real surprise to see that the MD11 worked perfectly on FSX (not as well as the 747 in FS9, but really well anyway). So to be clear, I'm not ready to abandon my 747, and I can't run it under FSX... So for the moment I keep both versions! (even if I would prefer to use just one...)Best RegardsCharles MOULINCDG ATC
  24. Yes, one more...just to say congratulations !!!With just a few hours of flight my only opinion is that it's a masterpiece.Your 747 was wonderful (clearly when it was realeased, it set new standards fo flight sim addons). Its only little drawback, to my mind, was the FSX version, pushing my system too hard. I see your programming skills on FSX have improved !! Your MD11 is beatiful and runs completely smooth even with ASX and some addon seceneries. For info, my conf is:Q6600, 4GB RAM, Geforce 8800GTX 768Mb, Vista SP1By the way, it would be great if those framerate imrovements could in some way be implemented in your 747 (I don't use it a lot in FSX due to the issue just mentioned above).Anyway, keep up the good work and thanks a lot!!!!Best regards.Charles MOULIN
  25. Well, I had some time to test it and it seems to be working fine.Sorry to have bothered you but I was turning nuts !Actually, your post gave me the idea to re install simconnect on the client, so thanks again for answering so fast.Best regards.Charles MOULINBy the way congratulations on the SP2 :)
